Loren, please give it a day or two, I am sure the mIRC site will be back up and you can get it.

Also, if you contact your current program site, I am sure they will show you how to stop the script program that is running every 5 minutes.  I remember someone else using it talking about turning off that "afk" script.

If it bans you for no good reason, let us know here, and we'll fix it.  Have you considered chatzilla it worked pretty well for me.

I'm currently using KVIrc without issue.
Never had any problem with my standalone IRC programs and the chat.

hi loren , well most irc servers use similar banning polecy so i suppose fixing whatever causing trouble in your pc would be more effective ,besides your gonna be missed am sure. i have a feeling though that there might be some sort of virus or trojans on your pc

also Xchat is a good irc client , i used a bunch and this one is the best imho
here's adownload link for windows (http://xchat.org/files/binary/win32/xchat-2.8.7f.exe)
and this (http://xchat.org/download/) is the website itself

although the windows version requires you to register in 30 days (much like any other windows irc client)

You should only have to pay that after the 30 day free trial.

Or you can switch to a linux OS and its completely free  >:-)

Seriously why pay for the software, there are free and open sources programs that will do the required job extremely well.  They may not be flashy or have all the bells and whistles, but they work no the less.

Three virus scanners running at the same time will more than likely cause conflicts because each program will install a program that continuously runs in the background and hence cause conflicts.

One firewall (software) and one virus scanner is more than sufficient to protect your computer from the vagries of the Internet and yes, there are firewall and virus scanners programs that are free to use.

I hope this helps in someway.

Kind regards
