Alice in Chains -- Nutshell and No Excuses
Townes Van Zandt -- Waiting Around to Die, Pancho and Lefty
Bob Dylan -- I Threw it all Away
Derek and the Dominos -- Layla
Joy Division -- Shadowplay
Pavement -- Here
The Pogues -- Thousands are Sailing
Steely Dan -- King of the World, Deacon Blues
Traffic -- The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys
Uncle Tupelo -- Still Be Around
Whiskeytown -- Sixteen Days
Waylon Jennings -- Low Down Freedom
And probably more, there's a lot!
I guess they're all mostly themes of beauty, sadness, nostalgia, and loneliness
The first ever 'proper' play I was in had me dying to 'The day thou gavest Lord has ended' so that makes me tingle - as does the overture music from that play.
'Come all ye faithful' and 'Deck the Halls' ARE Christmas.
There is also a song called 'Song for Summer'

I once woke up at four in the morning, stood in the living room of our flat and watched Islington, the roads, the cranes wake up as the sun rose and that song seems to capture the peacefulness and oneness with the world at that point.
This one brings me to tears every time I hear it
