Title: Young Teen, Genital Electrolysis, SRS Surgery in 5 months.
Post by: AnonChix on July 20, 2010, 01:24:46 AM
I'm having SRS with Dr. Meltzer in a few months.  I'm scared of death or complications and the pain afterword.  What are your experiences with SRS?  Any words of encouragement would be so so so much appreciated.

I am also currently undergoing genital electrolysis.  It's torture Dx.  My doctor gave me a painkiller and cream for it but it doesnt help.

Anyway... I'm new here.  This is my first post.  Hi, everyone! :)

Thanks Girls.

Welcome. Please do not be scared.

The younger you are the better your body heals and the less like you are to have complications.

Pain varies a lot. I got through my original surgery which was done as long ago as the mid 1980's taking nothing stronger than paracetamol, although strangely enough I am plenty sensitive down there. By contrast some girls need plenty of pain meds, but either way we all come through it ok. Just ask for what you need at the time.

Serious complications are very rare. Some of us, when healed, do decide that we want to have either minor, or in a few cases quite major, adjustments made to the cosmetic appearance but that can also easily be done if needed. Having been one of those who did opt for a revision, but some 25 years after the original, I can tell you from direct experience, that the surgery today is FAR FAR better than anything that was available in my time. So you really will be in good hands.

As regards words of encouragement, all I can say is that from the moment I woke after that first op to now I have been at peace with myself. I enjoy my life, I have a good love life and a partner with whom I am deeply in love and have been faithful for over 20 years.

So if this is who you are,  have no fears. The end of your pain is at hand, and the rest of your glorious life stretches ahead of you.

Good Luck and heal well.
