Title: Post Op Stuff
Post by: sneakersjay on July 22, 2010, 10:17:52 AM
Weird things I didn't anticipate post-surgery:

1) heightened sense of smell.  Everything stinks.  In the bathroom I can smell the soap and shampoo and cat food and moist dirt from the plants.  Outside the grass is rotting and damp and dog crap.  Every scent is strong and noticeable.  Bleh.

2) Which also translates into heightened sense of taste.  Cheese is too salty I can't eat it.  Lunch meat is too salty.  Chocolate is too sweet.  Nothing really tastes good.

3) Diminished sense of hearing.  Like I have a cold, or my ears didn't pop that one last time on the airplane.  Weird.

4) My penis ITCHES.  Probably from being wrapped for >2 weeks. Thing is so irritated.  I'm letting it dry.  But YOWZA.

Just whining.  Pass me some low salt cheese?  LOL

lol are you sure it's from surgery? Maybe it's just side effects from meds. There were a couple things I didn't anticipate post surgery, mostly to do with peeing lol

It could be from the antibiotics.  Who knows.

At least the nausea and fever are gone.

Now I need to take an iron supplement as I'm slightly anemic.  Oh Joy!!

Jay, whiner extraordinaire!!   ::)

I'm not allowed to pee thru the equipment yet.  I'm sure that will be interesting.  I have about 12 more days before I'm allowed to try it out.

wow congratulations Jay! (who else but us would congratulate each other on successfully peeing? LOL)

I have to take iron too because I needed so much blood, as well as zinc (good for growing new skin), vitamin C, vitamin D, and calcium. I was just glad to get my hormones back because being off that definitely caused unpleasant side effects.
