and if so, how much does it change?
Mostly, what I want to know is, would it change the things I like? I really love cats, as girly as that is. And I'm afraid that if I was on T I would like them less, and then all the cats that I have wouldn't know what they did wrong to make me not like them. I know this sounds dumb probably, but it is something I'm really worried about XD
Well I've only been on T for two months but so far the only changes in my personality that I have noticed is more confidence and a bit more cocky. Which may have nothing to do with T at all. Could just be me being more happy with the way I present myself and so I am more self assured.
My sex drive has increased and I am discovering that I like girls more than I thought I did before. I don't know if that's a personality change or just a need to experiment as I explore my new identity.
But cats? I still like cats same as I ever did. I like them more than dogs. I will always be a cat person as that comes from my childhood. As well as just being able to relate to the felines of the world. I think that's ingrained and will never change.
So you've never met a guy who likes cats?
Really, there's no testosterone-driven biological imperative that forces you to dislike cats.

I've met guys who like cats, but never guys who like cats as much as I do.
But that's good to know :]
Dude, I loooove cats. Like obsessively. So does my cis male flatmate. All we do is bother the cats!

And plus, I think cats are really dudely. They're solitary and quiet and mysterious.

I love that Tumblr link! I also love cats, but I think dogs are pretty great too.
You should see my two little (boy) cousins! They are in love (!!!) with my cat :)
I love cats dude. I still do. Only thing that's changed personality wise is that I'm more confident passing and I'm more attracted to dudes now. I was pansexual pre-T. This could be a phase but idk and it doesn't really bother me.

Normal.
I went through the same thing when I first started T, feeling as if I were attracted to women, that I was likely bisexual, etc. Eventually settled down and clearly I just like men. It's interesting how things change when we start taking the correct hormones!

It shouldn't change your personality in such a way that you'll stop liking your pets. You are still essentially the same person, with the same likes and dislikes, and the same core personality traits.
You may relate to them slightly differently, but that's more from processing emotions differently.
Personally, I liked my fish pre-T. I still like my fish post-T. I can relate to and process emotions better post-T - so if anything I appreciate my pets more (or more likely - am more comfortable with the type and style of emotions I now have).
I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
I like the same things, but might appreciate them in a different way if the emotions infer. It's just processing things different is all.

You must not have met my brother. He has eight cats. He's about as straight as they come, too.
you should see me when I see a kitty. If I'm on the phone or doing something and there's a cat I'm like "OOH! KITTY" then I continue what I was doing. It's sad really, but I love cats.
My likes and dislikes are pretty much the same. I am less patient about some things, and I like my music louder than I used to. I have trouble focusing, but that started when I came out, not when I started T.
Well, I don't listen much to classical or opera these days, but that might be related to my difficulty in concentrating for any length of time. I watch TV shows and movies in short bits, too, now, if I have them on DVD or DVR. I'm hoping all of that will change in time.

Hehe...me too. I admit I've worried that my lo--er...
obsession with cats would make me seem less manly, but I've since discovered many of my male co-workers who really dig their cats too. And, I really don't care anymore how people see me because of my cats, because if it ever came down to it, the cats would always win. :)
I've got two sleeping next to my chair right now....awwww! :icon_mrhappy:

It hasnt changed who i am, but it's given more things abit of a kick start.
I've toned down alot, which is weird. But where as, if some one was snotty with me. I'd just walk away before T, now i kick off lol.
So its made me more confrontational and given me a back bone, i notice sexual attraction alot more, uhhh what else. And i'm more laid back. Bout it xD
T changes your personality in more subtle ways. My experience is that it changed some of my attitudes about sex, and it made me a lot less emotional. But I'll still drop everything to play with a kitty. :P
