Title: Strap-ons....
Post by: Konnor on July 25, 2010, 05:47:47 PM
Alrighty, my bf and I are in the market for our first strap-on! It's exciting but I don't even know where to begin. I'm looking for some recommendations from you guys based on what you've tried. Here is what I know thus far:

So, that's about all I have thus far. Hopefully looking to spend less than $150. Thanks for the help everyone!

Hmm good question.  I'm interested in the answer myself.  I've tried quite a few things and haven't found one that I really like yet.

I have tried the vac-u-lock system which didn't work that great.  We have a couple of dildos for it of various sizes.  The dildos do stay put and they have some that look slightly realistic more than most.  The problem I have with it is that I really can't get enough thrusting power so I end up holding the dildo and moving it in and out with my hand not my hips.  The harness they give you is just not snug enough for continuous hip thrusting action if you know what I mean.

Then I got another one which I can not remember the brand name of.  The harness fit a lot better as it had a buckle not just snaps like the vac-u-lock had.  It had optional double penetration for me.  It worked well the problem was it didn't look at all realistic.  I want to look down and see that I have a cock.  So I lost interest in that as well.

Then my partner bought me a feeldo with a bullet vibe thinking I would like it.  First off not at all realistic so points off there.  Second it's extremely heavy and probably because I had kids it doesn't stay inside of me.  With an o-ring harness it's work all right and does actually feel quite good to me.  The sensations and the rubbing does as advertised.  Still it's not meant to be used with a harness so it's a bit awkward.  We continue to use it but I'm saving up for something new.

Which is the Goodfella.  http://store.babeland.com/dildos-silicone/goodfella (http://store.babeland.com/dildos-silicone/goodfella)  I really like this because it does look more real and the real looking and feeling balls are a huge plus to me.  They say it can be used to pack as well if you don't mind walking around with a hard-on.  There are is no stimulation for me with it apart from the visual but I can always use a vibrator for that.  You do need to buy a harness for it if you don't already have one.

Good luck.  There are flaws to all of them.  I hope you find one that works for you.

It costs a bit of money but this Spareparts harness is extremely comfortable and very easy to adjust and very much washable. It also has a bit of cloth if you don't like a dildo rubbing directly against your skin, but if you do you can move the cloth aside or even cut it out completely.  http://store.babeland.com/harnesses-all/spareparts-joque-harness (http://store.babeland.com/harnesses-all/spareparts-joque-harness)

As for the dildo, I can't recommend you anything because I have only used the Feeldoe, but a lot of the ones similar to the Goodfella look pretty nice.

Good luck!

Love the squareparts harness and any vixen creation phallus. Which one you should get depends on how much penetration your partner enjoys. My thoughts is if you've fingered him before and 3 fingers is what he enjoys...you measure around the thickest part of your three fingers in the same position they would be in. Find out what the average diameter is of that to determine what size dick to get.

The squareparts...what to say about it. The harness has a stretchy (like a hairband) ring which can accommodate most sized dicks. It sits low so the dick you chose will be right over your own flesh penis. It also has a pouch where you could put a bullet (I hate bullet vibes myself, but you can do it that way) or something textured like the "magic carpet." I can't find this on babeland but I remember buying one on babeland. It's a piece of silicone about the dimensions of my hand. One side is textured and the other is smooth. The bumps rub against yourself and feels pretty darn awesome.

Also, vixen creations is the company that makes the goodfella. The way it feels and looks is pretty darn realistic.

I would like a dick that will press against my dick a bit.  I have been tempted to buy a dick recently, but it's not like I'm having sex.  But you never know! I don't want to be caught unprepared.

Anyway, while I'm not into having my junk directly stimulated, indirectly is great, especially indirectly through a strap on because you can feel good at the same time.  I definitely don't want something inside tho. Any tips on how you could maybe modify one?

As for harnesses, I wanna make this:  http://www.instructables.com/id/Recycled-harness-hot-things-to-do-with-old-bike-t/ (http://www.instructables.com/id/Recycled-harness-hot-things-to-do-with-old-bike-t/)

I buy all of my toys from Tantus, Inc. (the makers of Feeldoe). I find that Silicone products work best - though they lack in realistic qualities. Tantus sells harnesses, kits, anal toys, and has great prices. AdamEve.com has a lot of nice dildos surprisingly enough, and several are cyberskin or a comparable material.
