So I just started hrt, I was going to wait til this morning but was to tempted and started last night, this morning I woke up with a bruise in a few places. My nipples have also sunken in some, and I swear I'm retaining more water... Will explain more if needed, I'm at work atm and typing this on my droid so its not the fastest lol. I know changes are coming but I just didn't expect within 24 hr results.
So is this normal or should I call my dr?
I doubt that it are anything to due with the HRT, but if you are concerned contact your doctor.
Abnormal bruising can be a counter-indication as estrogen interferes with clotting factors if there was no source of injury for it. To end up with a reaction overnight on day 1... just how much estrogen did you take?

Hormones dont work that fast, but our imaginations do, to see effects really 3 months minimum and things start showing up, you will also need the spiro to do its work. Testosterone will still cause whatever changes estrogen brings to reverse if its high enough. Spiro will lower your T, once its low enough changes happen a lot smoother. Typically 3 months for noticeable changes. Usually breast enlargement. You dont notice facial changes till you look at yourself after a year and go wow... i look different.
Are you following the dosing instructions of your Dr.? This type of reaction does not sound normal at all... At least I've never heard of that
Do you have other pre-existing physical conditions?
I started noticing slight changes after a month but nothing really noticeable until about 3 months
I'm at 9-1/2 months now and I'm realizing the changes I noticed 3 or 6 months ago were nothing compared to now
You probably should see a doctor, but I doubt that it's the HRT that is the problem
I'm following it exactly, I have spiro which I take twice a day, and then the espy a pop 3 times a day.
I don't know if it's psychological or what, but it was a woah moment cause I never bruise, and idk about the nipple thing, I really don't ever look at myself, it's disgusting to see my body, so maybe it's normal and I was actually paying attention and just noticed??
I do know I don't produce a lot of T, I'd say I'm prolly really low on the charts, no real proof just from my physical characteristics.
It just kind of surprised me to wake up with bruises on my arm and the nipple looking like it's gone in some. I feel great, but again that could be psychological as well...
Anyways, I guess I'll just keep monitoring for a few more days and see what happens
Sorry Samantha, no dosages. But it sounds normal. Give it a week and see what happens.
Ok something I've been reading on here is that people take the E by letting it dissolve under the tongue, my Dr had said to just swallow it but should I let it dissolve instead? is that the best method?
sublingual goes directly into the bloodstream where oral goes through the liver.
there are benefits to your liver processing the estrogen and there are downsides, notably if you have a weaker liver.
Thanks so much! Very helpful! My dr said to just swallow them so I'll continue to do so til she says otherwise then.
if you have any questions contact your endo asap this isnt something to play with it needs to be monitored and adjusted by your doc please let them know for your safe health
So far everything still seems fine, I feel more emotional but I'm really thinking it's all psychological and not an actual result of the hormones but idk.
Nipples still look the same and the bruises were actually a result of my girlfriend. I wasn't paying attention til we were wrestling around out back and she kept bitting me that I remembered she had bit me pretty hard several times on the arm the day before at the lake.\
As far as the whole retaining water, I did start drinking twice as much since I read it helps with the hormones so that could easily be an effect from that.
My mind is just tying it all to the hrt because I WANT a result TODAY even tho I know it's a process.
A girl can still want can't she?! :P

I had breast growth start in under 3 weeks, and I'm not on spiro yet :P.

genetics is a factor, but when you say breast growth, what are you talking about, bigger then you already had, sure thats normal, fat begins redistribution rather quickly, but to get a full cup size takes a while unless you have good large breasted genes in you heh.
I'm definitely noticing fat redistribution. Normally my chest is flat, like flat flat.very little sign of muscle or anything, now it looks like there is very mild swelling.
I'm use to my body weight fluctuating 5 to ten lbs in a week, seems that I'm gaining some weight. course the fact that I'm eating non stop prolly contributes.

you really notice fat distribution when you put your future much larger butt into skinny jeans. Heh. Even if your not fat, your hips could be wider which still make them hard to squeeze into.

I got this >_< I brought new jeans 3 months before starting. I embarrassingly popped the button a couple of weeks ago. Measurements show that my hips are 3-4inches wider.
I also started "budding" at 3 weeks however at the time they were only noticeable to me naked at 3 months others started noticing them.
