So I made an appointment today with an Endo to start HRT, I'm very excited to actually have a date set up, but is it normal that the wait is 6 months?

we don't know where you are but it seems a long wait in any case.

Especially as the transitioner chooses the moment to transition - though lots of medcis think they hold the starting gun.
Unfortunately it was the first opening this doc had for new patients.
My Endo Was The Same Way hurtfulsplash.
It kind of irritated me but there wasn't really much you can do...
even worse i had to reschedule my appointment because of insurance issues and
i had to wait another 6 months :/
I have no clue why it would have to wait that long especially because the appointments last no longer than a half hour :(
I went to my doctor 2 weeks ago to ask for a referral to the GIC for assessment (CAMH), still no word of an appointment, and once I DO get an appointment, I'm expecting to wait months before the GIC visit. Seems like a basic trans-fact of life... (sigh)
That sucks, I was expecting a couple months, not half a year. I wish I had made the call a lot sooner.
Seems rather long. Maybe your therapist can recommend someone else?
My therapist doesn't know anyone, I had to make hundreds of calls myself just to find this doc.
