Has anyone had good luck with any products to remove wrinkles around the eyes? The reason I'm asking is that I have lost about 30 lbs and am near my goal. But one of the problems I'm having is that my skin around my eyes and above my eyelids seems to be drooping. Not very feminine. And I suppose that if it keeps up I'll need to have cosmetic surgery as this can turn into a medical problem. Anyway, I've tried a couple of the wrinkle reducing things up there, but haven't found one that actually does anything. Anyone?

I don't have an answer for you but I'm interested in what others say as well. I know my wife and some of the girls at the office will spend over $50 on a jar or wrinkle cream. Does the expensive stuff really work that well?
Jen
I don't know about OTC products, but supposedly, tretinoin (Retin-A) is probably the best thing out there for skin. STILL not a miracle drug, but a close as you can probably get. Prescription only though :(
The various glycolic acid creams work well too.
Personally I use La Prairie eye products (http://shop.nordstrom.com/c/2385044/0~2377897~2383938~2384643~2385044). They are a bit expensive, but the results are awesome. Just consider it an investement and an alternative to botox, silicone, or collagen injections. La Prairie also sells a great selection of skin care products, but some of the prices are just way too expensive. So as far as skin care, I use Wei East. (http://www.weieast.com/home.html)

It depends on what kind of product they are using. Sometimes the most expensive creams don't do anything. I could recommend a few which have worked for me, but honestly I don't know if they will work on other people. IMO, the best skin care brand names out there are: Philosophy, Clinique, Perricone, La Prairie, Wei East, Serious Skin Care, Faves & Craves, and L'Occitane.

Expensive??? lol....only $265 for a half ounce jar. Tink, whatever line of work you are in, are they taking applications? For that price I hope that they get the red out and make my brown eyes blue. Maybe surgery is in my future if I can convince insurance it is medically necessary. The Wei stuff is a lot better in price. I'll look into that a bit more.
Right now I've tried a couple of cheaper alternatives, but none has had any impact.

Don't take me wrong now, I am not rich. I only use a tiny bit twice a day and a little jar lasts me forever. Just look at it as an investment. Cosmetic injections are almost $1,000 per session now, and they only last for three months. Besides, what are credit cards for? :P >:D

Hi Kristi,
Your question about eye wrinkles is interesting. I bought some concealer to lighten the dark circles under my eyes but have not had the opportunity yet to try it. I may have the wrinkle problem too, especially at my age.
Great job in losing 30 pounds! How did you do it? Was it self control, Weight Watchers or? I have tried the Weight Watchers at Work, the last time I lost 2 pounds in the 12 weeks. I know I need to exercise more. (Maybe even start exercising.) Probably less food and more exercise. Simple.

Hey Susan, thanks for the compliment. But you don't want to do it my way. I had a severe attack of an internal disorder. Part of the loss came from an attack that nearly killed me...several days in ICU with no food or water. But, as treatment, I've continued to lose after that to keep my glucose levels where they need to be by diet (low carb and low fat...eeeeew!) and by fast walking for an hour a day, which I really enjoy. My wife told me that she had noticed that my eyes were really puffy beforehand. This was from poison in my system. But now my face has shrunken some and the skin has not.

Hi Kristi,
Wow. Sounds like you had a pretty rough time. I think I will stick with the traditional diet.
I really believe weight loss is not totally what you eat but how much. I am still trying to come to that lower consumption level, but i like to eat stuff that I shouldn't. (I need to exercise also.)
Take care and I hope things work out for you medically. Hope your worse problem is getting rid of the wrinkles under your eyes!
Peace to you
Susan

correct me if i am wrong but i think some oil of olay products have retin-a in them and are not prescription, cant think of the exact product name though
Still searching on this. Found this product called "No Puffery" and wondering if anyone has tried it:

Someone also suggested that using Preparation H might shrink the skin. I think it might, but wouldn't this be bad for the eyes?

Yes, Preparation H is an old trick, and it does work on some wrinkles (especially the nose to mouth lines). However, you have to be careful if you plan to use it around your eyes, for it can cause irritation and temporary blindness.

P.S. here (http://www.skinstore.com/store/product.asp?catID=351&prodID=4934) is another good eye cream and not as expensive as the ones I suggested before. :)
Well FWIW, it hasn't done much around my eyes anyway. Oh, well, back to some more expensive solutions. Have to talk to my doc soon.

There is a woman who recently started up her own line of cosmetics (can't remember the name). She says she's read medical studies on all sorts of anti wrinkle creams, face lift creams, and other so called miracle creams. And she tells all of her customers none of them work, not even hers. Apparently her honesty with her customers has helped her company grow and women walk away with real expectations, not a bag full of promises.
My brother worked for the company that developed Retin-A and he said it was a temporary fix at best. Anything short of cosmetic surgery won't change your skin. It's all in the genetics. And of course how you've taken care of yourself. No smoking, no drinking, no sun bathing and a healthy diet coupled with regular exercise will do more for you than all the cosmetics in the world.

So in other words, no decent fun in your life, but your eyes will be smiling. :-\
Buns of steel video? No thanks, I'm already short in that department padding-wise.
