YAY!

For me, getting my ears pierced was one of the biggest steps for me.   It was a confirmation and acknowledgement of who I was and who I wanted others to know me as.

Congradulations!

first thing I did when I decided I had to transition was get my ears pierced...now I feel underdressed without dangly earrings...I don't bother with small studs anymore.

Well done Honey,

Virginia Marie and I pm'd each other for ages about getting ears pierced; she was braver than I and went first.
I work in drab and was so frightened. Then I just went in a got it done. I now wear 1/2 inch white gold hoops to work. NO ONE HAS MADE A NEGATIVE COMMENT.  I love them.  Shopping for earings is pretty high on the list of really good things to do.

Now. Don't touch them except with clean washed hands, and preferably an alcohol wipe type of cloth. Wash them with a pad with hydrogen peroxide often. At least morning and night. Some people say to rotate, I don't think it matters, sterility is the key. If you notice the lobe getting red and inflamed see your Dr for antibiotics. If the stud starts to be disappearing into the flesh see the Dr, it is an inflammation.  The first and last thing he/she will say is 'DON'T TOUCH THEM'.   .

Wait about 6-8 weeks before trying other ear rings, don't rush it. Then; Go Girl Go.  The sensation of wearing ear rings is really strange. You don't feel any pressure on the ear lobe. You cannot feel that they are there. You feel the touch of the earing on your neck, incredible.

Congratulations another step.

I have to admit my pierced ears define my femininity even when I cannot express it in other ways.

One small step, one humongous grin and you will remember this moment with great  satisfaction in the years to come.

Congratulations.

Kind regards

Congratulations Samantha.  I had mine done a couple of years ago, before Sandra came to life.  Now I am an earring addict!
I found the alcohol/antiseptic handwash we use at hospital where I work really helped the initial piercings heal up well, only took about 2 to 3 weeks.

I'm down with shopping for earrings.  Great past-time activity.  They sell the little suckers just about everywhere.
