It is always difficult when discussing humanity — Homo Sapiens as a species — to separate what is biologically driven from what is culturally imposed.

There are genetic and hormonal differences between boys and girls. There are deep seated cultural norms that cause parents raise male and female children differently. Research shows that boys and girl gravitate towards different toys. A culturally driven outcome perhaps, but young male and female chimps and other primates show the same behavioral pattern. A probability exists that the difference in behavior is hardwired into primate neurobiology.

Research also shows that parents encourage boys to be risk takers but exhibit nervousness if a girl takes the same risk. Is this parental tendency a social construct or a product of our biological strategy?

Someone else trying to resurect the stupid old idea that boys only grow to become oppressors of women because of society.
