Title: Silly little pre-everything FtM victories.
Post by: alexx on August 19, 2010, 06:26:37 PM
I bought my first guy shirt.  ;D It's a little too big on me, but I was kind of going for that.

AND one of my girly v-neck shirts accidentally got bleach on them from when I bleached my hair so my mom had to throw it out because she couldn't fix it.

I don't know why I'm so happy about this, but I felt kind of guilty because my mom said, "It's a shame, you really looked good in that shirt." Oh well. (Have yet to come out.)

I'm sooo glad I'm getting rid of my more feminine clothes. : D

Sorry if this seemed insignificant to you; it's a big deal to me. Also, my mom is finally letting me get my hair cut this weekend after a few weeks of convincing her to let me do it (I have waist length hair right now. Probably getting it cut tomorrow or the next day.)

If this seemed stupid to you, sorry for wasting your time. I'm just happy. :)

It's not silly at all.

I was  just as happy when I was allowed to get my hair cut. And congrats on buying your first guy shirt. Maybe you should bleach your hair in v neck shirts more offten  ;) Having ruined shirts is a good reason to buy more.

Congrats man! That don't seem stupid to me. That's great :) Wow I remember the first time I hacked my hair off after growing it out almost that long (donated it to locks for love) It's an incredible feeling. Good luck with the haircut :D

Not silly at all, i feel the same way whenever i get to buy guy stuff. For so long i utterly hated stuff i felt i was made to wear, now i can actually wear what i want. Kind of have a thing for wearing suits now, i pass pretty well in them (even the smallest shirts i get are too big and cover things up with general baggyness).

good going, alexx.

my mom and i went shopping just yesterday (woo for still feeding off my parents), and i finally convinced her to let me buy all guy's clothes.  it did feel like a victory, though silly and little.

It's not insignificant at all. :) I felt exactly the same way, and the same thing about cutting my hair shorter even though it was still long for a guy's hair.

And there's nothing at all to feel guilty about.

As people have been saying, not silly in the least.  We need our small victories where we can get them, especially before coming out  ;)

It's not silly, as everyone else has said - and count those little victories, they add up.  It will only keep getting better the more changes you make.  Good luck and I hope those good things keep coming!

You are such a downer.  This is about Alex and triumphs.

Congratulations Alex!  I remember my first guys shirt which was also to big but it felt so good.  It took me like 4 haircuts before I got the confidence to tell the hairstylist exactly what I wanted and why.  It was only until she realized that I was trying to look masculine did I get a haircut that actually worked for me.  You just have to be honest and if they act shocked or put off then move to another stylist.

Not stupid at all.  You deserve to be happy over the small victories in this life.

Congrats! It only takes a few little stones like that to break the dam that's holding you back

Congrats man! I did that for about 6 months until my mom got the hint that my girl clothes were slowly disappearing and being replaced by boy's clothes. I know the feeling though!

Haha. Thanks. My girl clothes are slowly disappearing, but I'm not sure if my mom has noticed.
