Fox News Affiliate Polls Readers on Transgender Marriage

In response to this confusing and ironic law, conservative Texans are taking the marriage debate a step further. A Fox News affiliate in Texas, called FOX 26, is polling its website visitors, asking: "Should transgender or transsexual people be allowed to legally marry?"

That's right, they aren't asking whether transgender people should be able to marry someone of the opposite gender or if their marriage rights should be based on their birth sex. They're asking if they should be able to marry at all.

Who is the knucklehead who created that poll?  And who is the even bigger knucklehead who allowed in to be posted?

Yeah, instead of working toward equal rights we've decided we should go back to the Victorian age and ramp up discrimination and prejudice.  Great idea! 

Thankfully, at this point, over 94% voted yes.

I was just about to post this.


I kind of like PZ Myers response. Not really a sexual behavior issue tho.  "Really, they just don't get it. The struggle for equality applies to everyone, not just a few dimensions of the range of human sexual behavior. It's like they're desperately parsing up the range to find something everyone will consistently object to, and it probably won't happen.

Hey, how about the next question being, "Should gingers be allowed to marry people who can curl their tongues?"

These people need to read the constitution and the thinking behind it.

Democracy is simply a means to keep the executive in check. Freedom should only be curtailed to protect innocent people.

It is totally unacceptable and goes against the spirit of the constitution to place any restrictions of people's lifestyles. ...that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The problem with these people is they hate America and all that it stands for.

Funniest thing about this poll is that it sounds like transgendered people were not allowed to marry at the moment.

Probably because it seems ridiculous to be opposed to marriage for a certain kind of people. I mean, most people are not opposed to gays marrying as long as they marry women...

Wonder what the results would have been had they been more gender-specific about WHO the transsexuals should be allowed to marry.  ;D
