Some of you may have already seen this, or heard about it...but Im late :P and only found this article earlier today 8) Apparently one of Angelina Jolie's daughters has mentioned wanting to become a boy. She has asked to be called John rather than Shiloh, and has even come crying to her mum one night, begging to get her hair cut.

What do you think about it? Maybe she could be just a "tomboy" but who knows. If she turns out to be an FTM it'll be publicised for sure. Do you think it would change the way people think about FTM's at all? :D Or do you think the child would be gossiped about all her life? :-\
I hope that whatever happens, Shiloh's parents set a good example by being supportive and accepting of their child no matter what ze decides to do. I doubt the kid would be gossiped about all hir life; I think (if Shiloh actually turns out to be ftm) instead the trans community would probably gain positive visibility. :)
So far I love what Angelina Jolie has been saying about Shiloh. I have a lot of respect for her because of how she treats her kids.

I could see both of these happening simultaneously. Tabloids, gossip, positive exposure, interviews. Movies will be made. Religious radicals will complain. If this kid decides to transition when ze gets older, a lot could happen.
Whether it's a phase or Shiloh grows up to be FTM, I think that all parents should be inspired by Angelina's attitudes toward this.
I adore the Jolie-Pitt family. They've always been very friendly towards the Queer community - going to far as to state at the beginning of their relationship that they wouldn't get married until everyone could.
My girlfriend told me about this when it first came out. I'm glad the family is so accepting to Shiloh - and I wouldn't be surprised if they're calling her John at home.
I hope I can be such an accepting parent when the time comes.
I can't help but think that people are going to see FTMs as the "in thing". First Cher's child, then Warren Beatty's child, now possibly Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's child.
That being said I think it's actually a good thing- especially if the parents treat it with respect. I think it shows people that being a transsexual can happen to anyone- no matter your race, social status, family, culture, wealth, etc. Plus there are many fans out there (especially for Cher, Jolie & Pitt) who might become more open minded about these things. I know Beatty isn't taking it well at all... but we all know he's a dick anyway. ;)
I just really wanna say that Shiloh is one of the cutest little kids i have ever seen. Whether or not she grows up to be FTM only time will tell but eiter way she'll be adorable.And Im so happy that Angelina is so supportive of this.I think she and Brad have a perfect family to show america how to do things right.

I don't care about celebrities at all (I didn't even know Jolie had a kid...), but this definitely draws my interest. If Jolie actually manages to be accepting of her child, and Shiloh grows up to be FTM, it could be a huge step; but in what direction? It could end up helping us gain visibility by the world, but it could also become bad, because we all know how tabloids write bullsh*t just so they can make money. Who's to say that won't happen?

I've been following this story on and off and I am very happy with the way Angelina and Brad are handling Shiloh / John. I've always felt a strange kinship with Angelina for some reason and this just does me proud. ^-^
I've seen both good and bad points of view on it so far in the tabloids. Some that infer that Brad and Angelina are bad parents for letting their child do this. Others that are just a bit bewildered but just seem to think Shiloh is just a tomboy. I suspect it will get worse if Shiloh continues down this path.
If that does happen then I do think Angelina and Brad are the right kind of parents to have on that journey.
John/Shiloh is a very lucky child to have parents that respect hir wishes.
In my own personal opinion I think John/Shiloh is FTM but she could just be a major tomboy, I think it's awesome how hir parents are accepting the way John/Shiloh dresses and acts.
I like that they're not being overly binary about it. I've seen a lot of parents where their child will say "I'm a boy/girl" and the parents will be set on their child being that gender. They're allowing Shiloh to dress and act as he/she/zie wants.
I read the article, and I am glad Angelina is handling it the way she is. No matter where life takes that kid, I feel like John's going to be OK.
What I mean to say is, it makes me feel better about everything to see that; more like everything's going to be alright someday.
