Title: Packer positioning
Post by: jmaxley on August 29, 2010, 02:18:29 AM
I was wondering, how do you position the shaft part of the packer?  I tried having it going down over the balls part and that's a bit uncomfortable for me, especially when walking.  Better was leaving it hanging out one side of the underwear or wearing boxers and letting it just hang down (using a sacrificed pair of women's undies as a harness, I cut a hole for the peen to go through--I wonder if there's men's underwear that doesn't have the opening in the front, the opening in the men's briefs I have is too big to hold the packer firmly in place and I hate the thought of wearing women's underwear).  The most comfortable position I've found is having it point straight up, but I wonder how natural that is.

FWIW, that which a packer most resembles tends to hang naturally to one side (which side presumably depending on the individual) unless harnessed in some way.

Probably an apples & oranges thing, but figured that might be helpful info for somebody.

Use a cock sock, pin it to your underwear. Makes things alot easier.

And I position mine straight down, but from what I hear that's not as common. Really it doesn't matter to me as long as it's not an obscene bulge :p

There are men's underwear styles that don't have a functional fly.  I'm going to send you links to the Hanes website because they're having a crazy sale right now, but styles like these can be found in most department stores, especially if there's an "athletic" section in with men's clothes.
Regular boxer briefs: http://www.hanes.com/Hanes/Products/Men-Hanes/Men_ShopByCategory-Hanes/Men_Underwear-Hanes/Men_Underwear_BoxerBriefs-Hanes/22817.aspx (http://www.hanes.com/Hanes/Products/Men-Hanes/Men_ShopByCategory-Hanes/Men_Underwear-Hanes/Men_Underwear_BoxerBriefs-Hanes/22817.aspx)
Trunk-length boxer briefs: http://www.hanes.com/Hanes/Products/Men-Hanes/Men_ShopByCategory-Hanes/Men_Underwear-Hanes/Men_Underwear_BoxerBriefs-Hanes/22818.aspx (http://www.hanes.com/Hanes/Products/Men-Hanes/Men_ShopByCategory-Hanes/Men_Underwear-Hanes/Men_Underwear_BoxerBriefs-Hanes/22818.aspx)
Briefs: http://www.hanes.com/Hanes/Products/Men-Hanes/Men_ShopByCategory-Hanes/Men_Underwear-Hanes/Men_Underwear_Briefs-Hanes/22819.aspx (http://www.hanes.com/Hanes/Products/Men-Hanes/Men_ShopByCategory-Hanes/Men_Underwear-Hanes/Men_Underwear_Briefs-Hanes/22819.aspx)
"Sport Briefs" a.k.a. Man-kini: http://www.hanes.com/Hanes/Products/Men-Hanes/Men_ShopByCategory-Hanes/Men_Underwear-Hanes/Men_Underwear_Briefs-Hanes/1A0956.aspx (http://www.hanes.com/Hanes/Products/Men-Hanes/Men_ShopByCategory-Hanes/Men_Underwear-Hanes/Men_Underwear_Briefs-Hanes/1A0956.aspx)

If you're a small guy, you might also have success wearing underwear from the boys' department.

Just a quick tip: Men will either "dress" to the left or right.. It rarely hangs straight down, or sticks straight up.. (unless there's a reason)

What she said ;) I've always thought it felt weird to have it all straight down (in jockey style undies) and I've talked to some bio guys who also said the same thing ... it just feels odd to situate it like that.

I position mine over the balls, but to the right. For some reason if I position it to the left it won't stay in place and i'll get a really odd bulge.. and sraight down isn't a huge bulge, but for some reason it still won't stay in the right place.. so.. off to the left and down that pant leg it is.

I have an stp... and I tuck the little stp spoony part underneath my waste band - and that in itself seems to be ebough to hold things in place.

I wear mine down and to the right. Almost all guys dress to one side or the other. I would think wearing it up would feel weird and look very, very unnatural. Mine stays in place pretty good but I wear briefs. Wearing boxer briefs and especially boxers you'll probably need some extra support (like a harness).

I asked a nice open-minded bioguy for help with mine, if you can hunt one down to assist you, well, they've got years of experience with where to put their junk, so they're probably your best resource!  (you may have better luck with asking a gay friend, a straight one might find you asking for troubleshooting tips more than a little odd!)  A little embarassing asking for help, but glad I did.  I wasn't quite sure on the vertical, either.

Shaft to the left for easy grabbing though the fly by most right handed guys in y-fronts, even if you have no intention of doing so or aren't wearing anything with an open fly because you don't want it to fall out, I didn't have a leftie handy so I can't confirm that they dress right sometimes/always/usually-but-not-in-briefs-cause-it'll-fall-out/depends on said leftie?  That seam in your pants can hurt more if you sit down and it's straight down and your jeans are a bit too tight...even though you can't really feel yours in the same way.  And packers tend to be "showers" rather than "growers", so...

Underwear's cheaper in the boy's section, so I second the recommendation of shopping there - boys grow bigger than girls, but it wasn't immediately obvious to me that just because I could no longer fit in stuff in the girl's department that it didn't necessarily mean I couldn't fit in the boys!

Mine always hangs down but slightly to the left(my left) because I am right handed. It doesn't create an obscene bulge but I'm not exactly trying to hide it either.

It also depends on how big you want to look. Putting it in different positions of course changes the bulge. If I'm wearing something where I want to accentuate the assets so to speak I'll put it kind of up (Of course this wouldn't work if you're wearing boxers.) or if I'm wearing my pants even lower on the hips sometimes I'll put it down or to the right or else my belt position is going to go right over it and that always looks a little weird!

I dress a little to the left...it feels weird straight down, and even weirder to the right.

Yes, most lefties dress to the right. I have no problem with anything hanging or falling out in briefs, but forget using the fly opening. The flies are made for guys dressing to the left (once again us lefties are left out). I have seen briefs for lefties but they're expensive and not worth it in my opinion. Just whip it out over the waistband and don't bother using the fly.

Most guys don't use the fly anyway.. leftie's or rightie's.. it actually has more to do with which teste is biggest.. they are not even in size.

It all depends on which packer you have, which briefs you use, etc.  The main goal (unlike cis-men) is NOT to have it fall out, and also to have it stay put!  Cis-men don't have to fear their penis falling onto the bathroom floor.  :o

The 5.5" cheapy packy will NOT stay put if you try to dress to the right or left.  The balls are too flimsy and even in snug briefs you end up with a packer upside down or sideways.  Might as well stick a tube of toothpaste in your shorts.  The 3.5" cheapy packy will stay put that way, though, as the balls are heftier.

Other packers are heavier and wider and positioning  may depend on your body type and/or harness use.

I have no issues with the cheapy 5.5 staying in place just from loosish briefs... maybe depends on.. uhh anatomy down there

I have a cheap 5.5 and it sticks almost straight out so unless I want the world to see my junk I can't really use it. I've even tried really tight briefs and it didn't work. I'll be investing in a bigger one soon that will hopefully hang down instead of stick out.

This is true.
Fun fact:
Whatever is your dominate side (like right side for a right-handed person) your teste or breast and feet will many times be slightly bigger on that side.

I got to admit, at first I had the same question. My packer was uncomfortably just hanging straight down and I noticed that was when my bulge was most noticeable. Now it just naturally hangs to the left because I'm right handed and that is more easily accessible when I have to pee. Also, I have the 5.5" too and rarely have shifting problems, like only when I wear longer boxer briefs. And I'm avoiding using a harness cos that's just more junk I don't really need for my junk.

I always slide my package along the left thigh, following the hem of my jocks. I don't like having it hang down with my balls for some reason.
