Title: New Member, Looking To Meet People
Post by: cdalyssa on September 05, 2010, 11:40:18 PM
Hello gurls. I'm Alyssa and live about 1hr north of Toronto, Canada. I've been dressing for about 20 years(35 now), with periods of stopping. I stopped dressing for about 4yrs from 2002 to 2006. I restarted in 06, and have been consistently dressing(in private) about 2 to 5 times a month(a roommate affects opportunities). I have a small selection of clothing,  a couple of wigs and some makeup. I have never fully grasped the makeup part of dressing, which is why I have only gone outside once. It was when a TG salon owner in Toronto did my make up 2 weeks ago for a makeover session. After the session, I purchased a new blouse & skirt and loved how I looked in new clothes and wasn't ready to put Alyssa away, so I decided to leave the salon in my newly purchased clothing(my roommate was out of town with his GF). I had to pass a few people on the street to get to my car, which was scary, but as exciting as anything I've ever done. The walk to my car was uneventful, as no one gave me a second look. I was on cloud 9 the whole way home. It got better when I realized that I needed to get gas. Having to get out and pump gas while 2 other people(woman-mid 40's, man-late 20's) were also filling up, just made the afternoon complete. Again, the other people paid little attention to me.

I realized after that weekend, that to be complete as Alyssa, I really need to learn more about makeup. Now that I have some confidence that with the makeup done right, I can go out as Alyssa(starting out with short excursions) I can't wait for my next "outing". I hope some of you have advice that can help make me complete. I have contacted the salon owner about setting up a makeup tutorial, but have not confirmed a date. I've been hesitant because I want to make sure any products she promotes are the best product, not because it's what she sells. So any tips are welcome.

Looking forward to making some new friends now that each day I'm making Alyssa more complete.

Sincerely,
Alyssa :) XOXO

Welcome!  Looking forward to hearing more!  I have yet to go out in total femme attire. (I do at least wear mascara, powder foundation and lips and nails) and sometimes wear women's clothing out but never have actually gone out presenting as a girl yet.)  I do get some looks with my purse, capris and painted toenails... and beard. haha

Congrats on your successful outing!

Thanks for the welcome. It is awesome to have place like this where I feel safe chatting as Alyssa with others. I'm amazed how freeing it is to be able to express myself, without being judged. As for my outing, I still can't believe it happened. I wish it was some how recorded so I could watch it every night and go to sleep with the biggest smile.

How do I add a picture to my profile?

XXXOOO

Check out the Announcements section for the site rules, etc... and about avatars and forum profile updates.

Yea its still a thrill when people comment on my gender-smashing appearance.  Just yesterday our pharmacist (who is a friendly acquaintance of ours since we have been going to them for years) asked me if I got a makeover - noticed my nails and she told me my skin and hair (which I recently covered) looked really nice.

I love getting comments like that out of the blue!

Hi,

Welcome to Susan's.

Oh the first time out, then the first time shopping, then the clubs then just a walk, then, why was I either worried about going out as me?

It get easier each time and there is no way of putting the girl back in the bottle.

Rayalisse, you are sounding to be in a good place at this time. I presume your 'beard' is shaven but not zapped? I cannot quite imagine you with a long beard and capri pants, but each to their own

Welcome read the TOS and post and talk and read and be part of this wonderful community. And of course the big secret.

You are no longer alone. You now have friends. You now have family.

Many of us have built up firm friendships, pm and phoning each other when we are comfortable.
It is wonderful to finally have sisters and brothers around the world that I can talk to.

I have to admit it makes the sex in the city girls look very parochial

Hugs Ladies

Not even shaved yet -- my spouse really likes it on me still.  Her words are "I love your beard...".  But I've really trimmed it down and its not a "long" beard anymore - it is very short (2nd notch on the beard trimmer on my cheeks - I think its like 1/32 inch or so) and a very neatly trimmed, ~ 3/32" goatee.  So yea it kinda looks funny

More to come on a separate post. :)

On the makeup end, I've got one book that still is in the bookshelf here and I occasionally look back through - "Making Faces" by Kevin something (bad memory on my part).  It's a really good reference and how-to that goes through most of the big-ticket concepts.

Hope that helps :)

great, welcome and enjoy the moments, for me are very special when i made it to go out and about, and i wish also to record the moments i were walking around with my stilletos showing my shaved legs under my nylons, i wonder how my makeup was looking and if my wig was ok, or my shoulders were not shown to wide, i wonder many things after i went out but the moment inside you is the best, so enjoy!!

CindyJames, you are so right. I'm not going to be bottled up ever again, that bottle has shattered. Question, what is TOS?

Again I want to thank all of you for the warm welcome, especially this week. I'm not ready to go into details, but this was a week where I really needed to feel I belonged, and you ladies did that. A big XOXO from the bottom of my heart!!!

Sincerely,
Alyssa :-*

Hi Alyssa,

TOS are the terms of service and the rules to live by on the main page. It's the what you can and cannot do. Basically be polite, don't flame people have respect for everyone no matter their gender, sexuality, race or religion. Basically be a nice person. If you don't follow them moderators jump on you and either issue warnings that will lead to banning if serious enough.

HUgs and welcome again

Cindy
