Title: My Cousin
Post by: Mktwigg on September 08, 2010, 08:00:40 PM
Today, I told my real close cousin that I'm transsexual. I've always acted like a guy and looked really muscular to him, so it was hard for him to see that, but he easily accepted the fact of this is what I am. He is the first person I ever told, so I was really nervous and shocked he just accepted it with no questions really asked. Now my next step is working my way up to have the confidence to tell my mom, I'm terrified just to think about it. Hopefully she will take it just as good as he did  :)

Congratulations! Telling someone is a big step. I find it gets easier the more people you tell. However, it will always be tough to tell the people who care about you most. Working up to it by telling close friends and family who you think will take the news well is a good idea.

Well done Mktwigg.

Good luck.

Your physical appearance isn't relevant.

I think you ought to get some input from a therapist before making any more big disclosures.
while being stereotypical male is a good disguise for TS there has usually been a lifetime of closet femininity.  Have you had that?
a therapis would talk you through things to help you decide why you suddenly want to be a female.
