Breast screening habits for transsexual women shouldn't differ from those of biological women, according to a recent European study. However, a human sexuality expert disagrees, saying screening for transsexual women should depend on when the patient started estrogen therapy and not age alone.

My Dr automatically put me on her recall list for mammograms.  She's been my Dr for quite some time including my transition.  I had no choice really as she candidly told me, "well my girl you're on my list now, got to make sure you stay healthy."  I'm 58, so she strongly recommended them.  They're uncomfortable and a little painful, but I think I'm worth it :)

I don't pretend to have any significant understanding of either radiology or onchology, but I do know that men can get breast cancer.

Seems a rather strange article really.

I'm legally female even though I still have male bits but I got a call to go for a routine mammogram same as all other UK women about my age.
I'm not due another one for about a year or so.
