I love body modification, currently I have my lip pierced, 3 inch? Korn logo with angel wings on my shoulder (cause their music has helped me a lot), an 6 inch by 6 inch fairy leaning against a pile of skulls and bones above my ankle (represents change for the better and leaving the past and embracing the future). I plan to get more work down later on when I can afford it. Such as getting my tougue pierced, get a tatt of the Earth Goddess in an nature scene on my back, and thinking of getting some scarification done design not decided yet. Everytime I get work done I never exp pain and have fell asleep on the artist a few times during getting inked lolz as it is relaxing. This may sound weird but body modification tends to be a spiritual exp for me. But there is one thing I would love to try if I ever get the chance is body suspension dunno why but I do heh.
I have snakebites, I love them. it is my only body mod, after chest surgery I will look into getting a chest piece of my favorite quote
(my signature)
I love body mods.
Branding the zodiac sign for pisces,
and getting pointed ears are my top priorities though.
There's one girl around where I live who has a bar on her cheekbone-
its really attractive looking on her. I think body mods look sweet.
Some body modifications (defined as piercings, tattoos, brands, beads, and such) are wonderful. The next step up that I have a hard time leaving in the bod-mod world as it gets pretty heavy fast. The details need not be gone into here as we have an idea what is next. Some I look at, or hear about, and go "why?" Hopefully, I am appropriately discrete--but that may not the desired goal of the participant.
But, then again, many say that about folks who frequent a transgender forum. So, I have to remind
myself that from my little glass house it is best not to throw rocks or boulders. The world has lots of stuff I do not understand or have time for, so I'll keep trying to get my house in order.
Some tats really turn me on all that asside and the functional aspects of many a piercing are enjoyable too.
So, call me a "love it" but leave room for a little bit of thinking to myself, some things I just do not get.

Yes, I like.
Have:
8g septum, 14g labret, 3/4" lobes - stretching to 1", stars tattooed on chest
Retired:
14g snake bites, nostril
Want:
zombie/horror/geisha sleeves, more work on chest tat, knuckle tats, neck tat, tongue split
I have always been more about tattoos than piercings, but I appreciate them both. I currently only have one tattoo, but two more have been promised to me for my birthday (which was almost a month ago...). I have a long list of dream tattoos.
Hate em!
I think they're cool...on other people :)
If I had the body that I feel like I ought to have, I might be more into the idea of tattoos in a couple places - for instance, I love armband style tats, and I've seen some really nice upper back ones. But as-is, whenever I think about getting a tattoo, I start thinking about where I would get it and what it would be, and I realize that everything I might want would look absolutely ridiculous on anyone who didn't have big biceps and broad muscular shoulders, and I give up.
I'm not really into piercings at all for myself. In girl-mode I tried earrings and a navel ring, and they never healed and looked ridiculous anyway, so I just gave up. After top surgery and required healing time, I might consider a nipple ring, and at some point I might re-pierce one of my ears (maybe a cartilage piercing in the right one), but the type of jewelry I'd want to wear - fairly small gauge, plain metal rings - barely even qualifies as the most vanilla sort of body modification. People put more holes in newborn baby girls.
I love it!
Right now I have 1/2" lobes and a labret. Next mods i'm getting is a septum punch and then when thats healed a conch punch.
I prefer piercings to tats but I do want some but not till i'm 100% sure.
Love them. I have snakebites, stretched ears, septum, belly button and nostril. I plan on getting a bunch more in my ears in the cartilage, my tongue, another in my lip in the middle, eyebrow and my nipples after top surgery.
I have loads of tattoo's lined up...just waiting for my body to be at a settled shape before I get my ink so they don't end up ruined.
I'm not a fan of body mods myself, but to each his/her own. :)
I'd never get a tattoo on myself, because I'd be too scared to regret it. I don't mind piercings and I'd love to get my lip pierced though. Hate earrings with a passion though.
I always wanted to have a tattoo but could never make my mind which one and where. Maybe I'll get a chest tattoo after top surgery.
Had a couple of piercings, will have another couple in the future.
But honestly, ain't physical transition the biggest body mod one can get?
I also love bod mods, although most of my love goes to tattoos. :) (Maybe it's because my body rejected all attempts at piercings.)
I've way too many ideas to get any ink right now. Mind needs to settle and so does my body. I will of course get a wicked chest piece after top surgery and look forward to it.
I also have an interest in suspension. Would definitely love to try it one day!

You have a very good point and I've never thought of it like that before. I doubt there's anything more "extreme" in body mods than physical transition.
I ve got about forty tattoos- the only reason i havent got anymore is cos i'm running out of room to have the ones i really like. Piercings never seem to last with me, i'm down to just one earing now but i do like them.
Some I like... Others I don't care for
I have two piercings in each ear and am happy with that for now but considering a cute lil' belly thingy
Would love to get some Asian tats (grass, flowers, butterflies, ocean wave - tropical beach kina thing) in the lower region after srs... A little more than a pair of boyshort panties worth :icon_redface:
Allergies to wearing metal left me not being able to wear watches, rings, and other jewelry. That doesn't happen.
On others, never really cared if they did or didn't yet preferred less if they did. Even I wanted to get my earings, but not stretch the ear.
Don't care. Don't practice it, myself.
P.S. I should add that I hate hate HATE seeing little toddlers with pierced ears.
Im with Arch on that one. Never thought the gold studs in babys ears lokked cute

Yes! I hate it when I see babies and little kids with pierced ears. I find it disgusting that some adults think it's ok to make holes in their kids lobes even though they can't consent. Also kid's look cute as they are.
I hate seeing young kids with pierced ears, body modding should be a choice for the individual to make later in life.
Earrings for kids happen. If they are younger, barely just walking, then questionable, yes. Do it young enough, as in not too young, and the kid is smart enough to know if s/he doesn't really want them. They'll heal if taken out.
It's not like finding a scar between your legs.
I agree about kids and pierced ears. I have obvious holes in my ears. :(
As for body mods, heck yeah! If only I had a higher pain tolerance and no fear of needles. Like a lot of the other guys I'll probably get a chest tat after top surgery if I think I can handle it.

Are you saying that it's ok?
I don't think it's ok to scar a kid just because the parents think it looks good. When people are old enough they should be able to chose to get them pierced or not.
I'm not telling someone else what is ok and not ok to do with their kids.
If anything, I'm comparing the (un)comfortableness of an intersexual left with a scar between the legs and hole in the ear. I doubt the reaction is the same. Both cases have happened, however... so that's past tense.
You didn't answer my question, is it wrong or is it ok to make a hole in a young kids lobe even though the kid cannot consent?
Parents make such decisions all the time... without the kids consent. I hate it when doctors don't even consult with the parents about what the doctor wants to do to kids.
My child was was 4 at the time. I did mine first right before her, and she sat on my lap patiently watched and waited for hers to be done. It was done by a professional in the middle of a huge mall. She's loved earrings ever since. I couldn't continue to wear mine do to allergies.
Go ahead and hate it.
