I found an online adaption of the Bem personality inventory that does not require pencil and paper to score.
I scored around 60% on the male aspects, at about 69% of the female aspects, and about 63% of the androgynous aspects.
Anyway, if you feel like taking it and posting your results...
Ok I'll play - but just for a bit of fun. ;D
You do realise though that all these tests are based on someones rather stereotypical view of what constitutes normal masculine and feminine behaviours?
That said I am actually quite impressed with the result predominantly feminine with a strong androgynous undertone and some masculine traits actually does sound pretty like me! I was pretty darned honest too. Here is the score:
You scored 32.5 out of 100 masculine points, 90 out of 100 feminine points, and 67.5 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
73.333 Masculine
70 Feminine
68.333 Androgynous
Did it just for laughs..
You scored 43.333 out of 100 masculine points, 82.5 out of 100 feminine points, and 70.833 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
You scored 72.5 out of 100 masculine points, 70.833 out of 100 feminine points, and 55.833 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
I think it's silly that it measures you on things like how much you love babies and how truthful you are, but interesting results nonetheless.
You scored 83.333 out of 100 masculine points, 33.333 out of 100 feminine points, and 58.333 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
OK
You scored 88.333 out of 100 masculine points, 51.667 out of 100 feminine points, and 63.333 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
Not bad - I feel like I'm a little less feminine than it says, but otherwise it actually sounds a great deal like me.
My results:
Masculine 69
Feminine 25
Androgynous 44
Just for giggles.
You scored 50.833 out of 100 masculine points, 75 out of 100 feminine points, and 68.333 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
Masculine 78.333, feminine 62.5, neutral 55.
I think it says more about how I tend to answer personality test questions than anything else (I very rarely mark "always" or "never" for anything, and I tend to think I express most traits to some degree most of the time. And yes, I believe I can have a very strong personality and be very forceful while also being soft-spoken, thank you very much.)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what the third score is for. It's interesting that so many people get scores above 50% on that section... I wonder what that says about the traits they put in there, or how we're disposed to answer tests?
Anyway, on that note, I got 41% of the masculine points, 78% of the feminine points, and 63% of the control points.
Just for giggles.
You scored 33.333 out of 100 masculine points, 87.5 out of 100 feminine points, and 70.833 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
This is silly lol ;)
Each trait is assigned to only one of 3 categories, either Masculine, Feminine, or Androgynous. The 7 available responses for each trait range from 0 (Never) to 100 (Always). Each intermediate response is given a strictly linear value of position * (100/6):
Never = 0 * (100/6) = 0
Rarely = 1 * (100/6) = 16.6667
Neutral1 = 2 * (100/6) = 33.3333
Neutral2 = 3 * (100/6) = 50
Neutral3 = 5 * (100/6) = 66.6667
Often = 5 * (100/6) = 83.3333
Always = 6 * (100/6) = 100
The result is a simple average of the number of responses per any given category.
The 60 traits are divided into 20 Male, 20 Female, and 20 Androgynous. These values are assigned as follows: Starting with #1 'self reliant' = Masculine, in numerical sequence they follow the pattern Male-Female-Androgynous all the way through to #60 = Androgynous.
01. M 21. A 41. F
02. F 22. M 42. A
03. A 23. F 43. M
04. M 24. A 44. F
05. F 25. M 45. A
06. A 26. F 46. M
07. M 27. A 47. F
08. F 28. M 48. A
09. A 29. F 49. M
10. M 30. A 50. F
11. F 31. M 51. A
12. A 32. F 52. M
13. M 33. A 53. F
14. F 34. M 54. A
15. A 35. F 55. M
16. M 36. A 56. F

18. A 38. F 68. M
19. M 39. A 69. F
20. F 40. M 60. A
And yes, being analytical is assigned as a "Male" trait. Shows how much they know. ;)
True that the test is very stereotyping...maybe that's what the psych textbooks meant when they said that people who are a bit androgynous in tendency tend to do better in life than people who are very rigidly gender-typical male or gender-typical female. When I took those classes, I was pretty sure I was a cisgendered female, so I didn't think to question the attribution of personality tendencies to gender...and now I feel like having a facepalm moment that I just swallowed that bit of orthodoxy.
If you view personality traits as having a gender attribution-which does, now that I think about it, just seem like a bit of a silly unconscious bias on the part of the psychologists and sociologists themselves-then those that have the widest menu of possible behaviors are naturally going to be best suited to adapt to any given situation, right?
Oooh...I think I ought to start emailing my old professor and discussing this stuff...he's actually been to international sexuality and gender conferences, so he'd find my thoughts and adventures in gender quite interesting, methinks... ;D
Things that look very rational from the perspective of the cisgendered, when you put on the special x-ray specs of a TG-spectrum person, they are revealed as an unconscious bias.
My Score:
59.649 masculine
90 Feminine
55.833 Neutral 8)
52.5 masculine
70 feminine
52.5 androgynous
This surprised me a little. I often score about in the middle for everything on many of these tests - whatever that means. ;)

You scored 45.833 out of 100 masculine points, 65.833 out of 100 feminine points, and 57.5 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
About what i expected.
you scored 47.5 out of 100 masculine points, 74.561 out of 100 feminine points, and 63.333 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
...meh
Fun, although random. I think mine's fairly close.
64 masculine
47 feminine
54 androgynous
I did it twice over the course of 2 days, the average was
M 65
F 67
A 75
Is ther another page that gives some insight what these numbers mean?
I took it in solemn seriousness, even sombreness and scored
51 masculine
78 feminine
69 androgynous
I'm not a maths whizz, but it does make me nearly two people.

From the top of the page:
QuoteThe Bem Sex Role Inventory was developed in 1971 by Dr. Sandra Lipsitz Bem. It characterizes your personality as masculine, feminine, androgynous, or undifferentiated. The BSRI is based on gender stereotypes, so what it's actually measuring is how well you fit into your traditional sex role. Thus, your score may say as much about how our cultural expectations have changed over the last 35 years as it does about your personality.
42.5, 78.75, 57.5
You scored 41.667 out of 100 masculine points, 80.833 out of 100 feminine points, and 69.167 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
For fun: 38 male, 74 female, 71 androgyne.
69 male
70 female
58 androgynous
?
Its fun to take these - and still know that somehow we are so much more than what we measure with any test.
Thanks for the link
Kendall
59.167 out of 100 masculine points
61.667 out of 100 feminine points
50.833 out of 100 androgynous (neutral)
66.667 masculine
74.167 feminine
61.404 angrogynous
But it's all a load of tosh, and kindof insulting things such as gullability define gender.
You scored 78.333 out of 100 masculine points, 52.5 out of 100 feminine points, and 58.333 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
I can't say I'm surprised. :icon_geekdance:
You scored 70.833 out of 100 masculine points, 64.167 out of 100 feminine points, and 64.167 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
Stereotypical albeit fairly accurate, I think.
You scored 67.5 out of 100 masculine points, 52.5 out of 100 feminine points, and 54.167 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
It's about what I expected, with regard to stereotypes about gender and behaviour. I'm pretty all-over-the-board in how I feel, and it's also how I tend to score on these things.
You scored 55.833 out of 100 masculine points, 73.333 out of 100 feminine points, and 62.5 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
feminine wins all others..hehe
QuoteYou scored 23.333 out of 100 masculine points, 80 out of 100 feminine points, and 65.833 out of 100 androgynous (neutral) points.
Such tests can be fun, but keep in mind that :
1. No existing test will successfully diagnose gender identity disorders, such as transsexualism, with a very good success chance. As such, one should by no means validate their status using such flawed tests.
2. This test, by looking, doesn't seem very valid. For example, it is very easy for your subconscious to influence it (everyone knows some questions give female points in this test, and one identifying as female will be prone to exaggerate her answers on such questions, without possibility to fully control it).
"You scored 75% masculine, 45% feminine, and 60% androgynous"
... Yes, i'm kinda surprised o..o''
Because i never thought i was all that girly >XD
*runz*
Kidding. I may not consider myself as a female, but i know i'm not all that "macho" too ;3
35 Male / 56 Female / 40 Andro <-- First result
29 Male / 65 Female / 55 Andro <--- The day after, really thinking about it.
Not bad....some of those kinda repeated themselves.. @_@
with all tests like this I think It is more telling how you react to the results if you think "that sounds like me" then either it is or you subconsciously manipulated the results to get the result you were wanting.
if you think no thats not me either you are in denial or you you need need to find a test that has a wider range of possible results.
When I was first searching for who I was I was more searching for a name so I could find other people like me
45.614 of 100 masculine points
74.167 of 100 feminine points
71.667 of 100 androgynous points (neutral)
Life time batting average or skewed by the fact I feel more female today because I am having problems dealing with my physical masculinity?
I did the Combined Gender Identity and Transsexuality Inventory (COGIATI) last week and scored (-50) which placed me in the COGIATI classification Three, Androgyne
It states I seem to move well between my male and female sides without too much difficulty and the permanent shifting may lead to unhappy results. Counseling: The primary goal would be to make it possible for you to enjoy your gender expressions free from any shame or embarrassment, and to resolve any remaining questions you might have.
If I can truly believe in this I would say given my years of actually living I might have scored both different between the age of 18 and 2! as I would have between 30 and 40.

Don't let any test get to you, 28BROOK. Remember that while the COGIATI has been congratulated by some individual experts, it is NOT approved as tool for the diagnosis of transgender issues. No test is.
The only ones who can really know where you stand in the gender scale are you and perhaps your therapist.
A
I agree.
I was feeling differently when I took each one which seems to show the results to be more of a mood indicator.
I think your English is good, much better than my poor showing at French. I was in Ft. Erie some 35 years ago and found my two years of High School French was mostly wasted while listening to the history in French.

Just FYI, this test measures where you fall within traditional stereotypes of the genders. It says that at the top, if I'm not mistaken.
Notice that the Bem does not make masculine and feminine opposites on a single dimension. You can score high on both masculine and feminine - or low or any combination. I am not sure what that means about gender identity, unless it is that it is more complicated than either being male or female.
Come to think of it that sounds right.
