I'd like to tell you about the Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) and why it is so much more significant this year than any other year so far. We will be witnessing history in the making.

There are two very important events happening as part of TDOR in Ottawa. The first one is a Flag Raising at Ottawa Police Headquarters. For the very first time in Canada an official organization is recognizing the TG Community by hosting an event like this. The Ottawa Police approached us and offered to do this. We didn't even have to ask. This speaks volumes about how the world has changed. The Flag Raising will include speeches by high-proflie officials. We have already received positive responses from 2 MPs, 1 MPP, The Ottawa Police Chief, The Gatineau Police Chief, The Ottawa Paramedic Chief and are currently waiting to hear from the Mayor. This is huge!
