Ok, so here's an awkward question... Since I've been binding I've noticed that the last few times I've taken my binder off, my nipples have been inverted. They go back to normal after a while, but I wondered if this was something to worry about? I don't bind super tightly, I don't bind that often or for long periods of time, and I wear a sports bra under it so the binder material isn't irritating my skin. I'm hoping for peri surgery one day, so I'm trying to really make sure I don't mess anything up for that, but at the same time I want to be binding for obvious reasons... Is this just a normal thing that comes with binding?
I've never had this happen, but then my nipples are all big and soft and squishy. They tend to fold over to the side rather than inverting.
I've had this happen occasionally. I've been binding daily for about 3.5 years now, and the inverted nipple thing started happening about 2 years ago. Generally I don't worry about it. I looked it up online, and having an inverted nipple seems to be a fairly common thing for both men and women. I had one time where it was inverted and oozing this sticky fluid, and I kind of freaked out about that for a while, but it only happened once and it was kind of a long time ago. But if it's something that concerns you, maybe bring it up with your doctor the next time you see them? I'm a bad person to give advice on this sort of thing, because I don't take care of my health the way I should, especially with respect to my more feminine body parts. But yeah, it can't hurt to ask your doctor, if that's something you're comfortable with.
Ha, yeah, it's probably not something I'm going to ask my doctor about, since I'm not even out to her yet. That could make for an awkward conversation...
I looked it up too, but all I can really find is it happening to pregnant/nursing women. I've never had it happen before I started binding, so I just thought it was really weird, and possibly bad.
Kyril- I guess mine are smaller then? When I bind, I pretty much can't push anything to the side at all, which doesn't help me get very flat. :-\
