Title: Best time to start T?
Post by: jackcollins on October 03, 2010, 10:41:12 PM
Hey. I'm Jack, I'm younger and FTM.
I've been trying to transition naturally for a while now, and I pass pretty much everywhere I go. My voice is naturally deep, too, so that helps.
But there are some things I can't get rid of. I have an extremely girly body, no matter how much I exercise. I'm thinking of starting T. Should I start now or wait until I'm older?
I'm afraid if I wait too long, I'll always look too young. (I'm 5'1" and really skinny).
Anyone have any experience starting T early or late?

The sooner the better I have been told.  If you haven't entered into puberty you can actually get the benefit of going through puberty in the correct gender

It's best to start as soon as you're ready. If you're not ready, or not sure yet - wait.

Like Rob said, the sooner the better for the most changes. If your growth plates haven't closed, you may even grow a few inches.

Read up on all the changes, look at some before and after pics, and do some reflection. Treat the possible changes are permanent when you make your decision, and you can't go wrong.

If you're ready and don't have to worry about parental permission, then the sooner the better. If you start soon enough, you can escape some of the feminizing effects that happen fairly early in life. And, if you're fortunate, pick up some height that you wouldn't have had otherwise.
