I know, a bit early. But do share! :)
Mine's to lose 5kg (+-, gained too much lately I dunno!) and get closer to bottom fix :P Also do well/better in University :)
Move to a more trans friendly area
Sell my 2 scripts and 3 novels. (Thus completing my transition from technician to writer.)
Finally to get published and see at least one of my scripts going into production.
Well, I'm planning on getting FFS and going full time next year, so I might as well make those my resolutions :)
I generally don't make them because I am terrible at keeping them. But I am going to try to make 2011 the year my famous list ends.
To be fulltime with longish hair etc
Hey Myself (not me, the myself that posted the question!)! NO FAIR! You can't ask that question yet! It's not that close to 2011 yet. PLUS, I'm not doing working on my 2010 resolutions! Lol, j/k, but it's funny you ask because I was thinking about my 2010 goals yesterday. Those were:
1) Read a minimum of one book per month - Probably not going to happen.
2) Get at least 25,000 X Box 360 Achievement Points - Not going to happen. Getting 9,000 more points in a year for someone with a busy schedule is impossible!
3) Get - $500 new monthly payments on car-related expenses - Completed!
4) Take at least ONE nursing class - Completing right now :)
5) Get two letters for surgery - Therapist working on it, not in a super hurry on this.
6) Get my weight back down to the 140's and keep it there - Um, yeah, we're going to need to talk about this one, lol.
7) Visit my parents at least twice in 2010 - Not going to be completed, financially related.
Ok, so 2011, what do you hold for me. I know these are definites so far but I'll add more as we get closer to 2011:
1) Work toward nursing school pre-reqs and take two classes (room permitting!)
2) Really get into the 140's and exercise regularly
3) Read eight books
4) Get my oral surgeries completed!
5) Obtain letters for SRS
6) Go on a few dates, get out there a little more
That's it for now :)
Well, I should add on my own: get much much more progress with my project :) And hopefully get lasered in more places.. damn I can't say I am all that excited about that one, OUCH! (although I am excited about possible results ;)). Last laser session of my face was SO PAINFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I had maybe 10 hairs... Not sure what went on there ;-;
Also I need to get my website done for my game which I am programming :)
1. Contribute more to the Wiki. ;D
But seriously, I'll be out at work before the end of the year, so in 2011 there's no reason why I shouldn't be full time. I'll also start laser and get the hair transplant I've been researching.
2011 is gonna be busssssssssy. And fun. :)
I want to lose more weight, mainly the 15 I gained over summer, and get to a place where I have a flat stomach. Be completely out to my family and able to talk to them about my life and transitions, mainly parents. Start getting laser. Buy mac book. (This is for 2010 though. Might carry over to 2011)
hmm, it is a bit early, but I need to:
1. Make some money
2. Be more open with who I am
3. Do something about this facial hair, having it just drives me crazy!
4. Continue loosing weight (I am doing well on that front already at least)
5. Buy some new clothes :) this should be on everyone's list
Do this years taxes!
To hopfully come out, probs wont happen though.
Get my name fixed, and then get all my documentation fixed.
-Start hormones
-Move to Toronto
-Go full time
-Get trach shave done
-Come out to the rest of my family sometime during all of this
It's gonna' be a good year. :D
My "resolution" I guess could be to go full time by the next school year. I should be starting hormones by Thanksgiving, I'd like to be full time by September at a new university. My voice needs a lot of work, but if I were ready sooner....
Get a job and come out to my parents.
-Re-enroll in University
-Get some semblance of FFS
-Be out to everyone I know (hopefully I can do that by the end of this month)
-Have my parents support/accept me (I've been out to them since November of last year, and I hope they come around soon)
-Get my letters for SRS (September of next year)
-Finish electrolysis (Just started, and trying to get at least 2 hours in per week)
-Update my wardrobe so I don't look so tomboyish
-Go from 149lbs to 139lbs (I'm 5'11"), and start working out
Oh, and I almost forgot something really, really important, my voice. I really need to work on my voice.
Get my name changed legally...and get my gender marker changed ^_^
- Find (and keep) a job
- College/University??
- Lose wieght?
- Get a job...
1. get over my fears and present as male in public
2. get in shape
3. dig myself at least somewhat out of debt
4. get started on new book project, and stick with it.
5. find new psychologist
6. sign up for, and stay in classes
7. better paying job would be nice...(Are you listening, Santa?) :icon_evil_laugh:
Hmm....reads more like a to-do list, but alas...
Hell, I really don't know. Continue my awesome recovery from SRS and make some new RL friends is about all I can think of; I'm pretty much up to date with all my life achievements.
I'm just going to pray that someone, anyone, can take the technology they used in Avatar, and put it to use in a film with a decent script and story line - like say making a film version of The Dragonriders of Pern.

I'll second that, without hesitation.

Should not be allowed... they'll just ass-f**k it like what happened to Earthsea, or pretty much 90% of sci-fi/fantasy adaptations. I'm still trying to get over what they did to I Am Legend...
I'd rather see a Discworld MMORPG come out. Much harder to screw up than a Pern film.
1. Play less wow, and wait for diablo 3
2. dress up more like a guy and not be ashamed of it (maybe while playing wow??)
3. go to support grps...though i have never been to one
4. say hello to my mother
5. be good to myself
Well what I'm hoping for is that DRoP could be the new Plan 9 from Outer Space, the Showgirls of Sci-Fi. All a game would do is keep the geeks inside for another week. But Hollywood - the place that said "Yeah, the New Testament is a pretty good story, lot of action, but don't you think that Jesus needs a love interest?" - they could make it epic.
I'm thinking Russel Crow, maybe the voice of Cher as one of the dragons? How could it lose.

You've never played an MMORPG have you?

Lol, a week? Games keep people inside for months and years now, Tekla, c'mon! This isn't Atari we're talking about! I don't get the whole thing either but if I'm sitting in front of my computer in my leisure time for more than an hour or two there's a problem! Well, unless the new Call of Duty game is out...or I'm making a video...or I'm watching a movie :)
Turn my dirt floor basement in this old house built in 1820's into two rooms one for storing ice from winter and one for storing tools and drill a well so i can pump water right from my house and build the barn across the small creek which will double as a carriage house for my horse and buggy. Make a garden and rebuild the old log house into a bathroom and sauna and wash room and complete the septic system behind it and build some rustic fences for goats and cut enough wood for next winter. yea thats about it but i'll probably do more.
quit smoking(for good), make better grades

quit smoking(for good), make better grades
i told lots of people and made lots of bets and i was going to owe a fortune if i started so i stayed stopped and the other person didn't have to pay me and i chain smoked the last day every second and well that made me so sick of them i didn't want one for a week and then the bets kept me off them
go for it
I never really do it, but I actually have some resolutions for this year!
1) Get going on HRT (should be able to check that off in January)
2) Lose some weight (past 4 years of denial and depression have left me a little too pleasantly plump)
3) Go Full-Time (seems impossible, maybe 75% time is more doable)
4) ? ? ? ?
5) Profit!
I think I'm pretty much covered with that list. ;)
~Sara
5) Profit!
I just move that to number one, and who cares about what has to come first?

Pretty much this... MMORPG's can suck your life away, but they are fun while you play them :P
I work pretty much full time creating fantasy out of reality for other people to buy, that and just living the Cali lifestyle takes up all my time. Perhaps if they made one I could play in the hot tub.
-Be on T by march 3rd
-Quit smoking by the end of the year
-Get in really good shape by the some
-Talk to my family more.
Well in the spirit of things, I thought I'd share, I've been working on my goals for the new year this last week anyway...
1. Get into University and start doing something useful with my life and skills
2. Get a place of my own (after I sell my house)
3. Come out/talk to my Mum
4. Start living fulltime, by Mid March (attending Uni)
5. Hormones
Well thats it in a nutshell....
My new year's resolution... 1920x1080. ;D
to lose weight and the mid age spread hopefully ??? ???
To drop down to 135 lbs and to be able to schedule my SRS.
Start electrolysis (after 3 years of laser)
Re-start voice therapy
Send letters about my transition/pronouns to ALL organisations/companies etc. that have some record of me
Get my house as neat and clean as it was prior to transition
Get my administration as organised as it was prior to transition
Buy my first bra
Consider to move to another area or city
Go on a vacation abroad at least once (it's been 3 years)
Continue with what I'm already doing with a positive mindset :)
I'm going to finish my novel by Easter Sunday.
(I probably sort myself out a career, move to a flat/house/bedsit with hot water and lose some weight, but sod all that).
-Start HRT in January/February
-Go fulltime by my 40th birthday: 12/31/2011. (Maybe sooner depending on HRT)
To be the best wife I can be, once Im married in April. :)
To go out in public without being so paranoid all the time! :P
1. Lose weight
2. Get over my present case of sciatica
3. Get my meds for other conditions regulated
4. Discover life as a post op
5. Get my taxes done early
6. Actually ride my bicycle instead of just looking at it on my balcony.
7. Get back into playing my guitars
I shall add to mine. Return to school and get a certification in Electrolysis and Nails.
In no particular order...
1. Figure out how to make some/more/any money (i.e. Get A Job.)
2. Move back to Philadelphia. Live on my own, again. Woo Hoo! Gender identity and expression protection laws, and easy access to guns! What more could a girl want?
3. Quit smoking. Generally, a bad idea whilst on estrogen therapy!
4. Start electrolysis. Save time not shaving/tweezing face! Less makeup required! Yay!
5. Simplify myself and my life.
6. Start new band to replace the one that dumped me when I came out.
I probably should say lose some weight, 'cause I really need it, but I also don't care about being fat, sooo...
-Live by myself, away from my family again and forever this time
-Find a job where I'll be able to support myself
-Start T
-Go back to therapy and psychiatrist
-Do some good things for the needed ones
I have a lot of things in mind, but that's basically the things I HAVE to do, no matter what!
Take the red pill
To give up my addiction to meat.
1) Stop smoking (again)
2) Create a new job for myself
3) ACTUALLY have a date
4) hehehe, depends on 3
1. Work out at least once a week!
2. Follow through on my surgery plans.
3. Stop being married to work (60 hours a week is enough!)
4. Meet a guy that doesn't turn out to be a complete jerk.
1-3 seem very doable... 4 might take some luck...
Come out to my family is the #1 on my plate right now!
1) lose weight.
2) start to work out once a week and take regular walks daily.
3) grown my hair as long as possible and try all sorts of hair style till I find one I love!
4) volunteer to be Janet Lynn's Electrolysis test person. She is friendly and I am sure since she has been through the pain she will be gentle.
okay the last one was just kidding, but this one is real.
5) Get through my first appointment with the CAMH, go to a support group regularly, get to see a Gender at least by weekly and get a letter for HRT. Work very hard at making myself feel good inside and outside.
loves and hugs
Simone
I need to learn how to relax.

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to say that going through and reviewing all of these resolutions, it made me realize the importance that so many of us have on executing our goals. I also wanted to remind each of us that it's up to us to get these things done. We have to power inside of us to make reality happen. It happens when we choose to go to the gym instead of jump on the computer or pick up the phone and call that therapist even though we are terrified. The resolutions we make through transition, especially in the beginning are the foundations that we build to have a life we dream of. Don't ever forget that and let that be the charge that keeps you focused and going each day. Keep up the awesome work in 2011 ;) Meghan
