Title: Laser: Would dying white hairs help?
Post by: Melody Maia on October 14, 2010, 01:37:22 PM
I just had my second round of laser hair removal and it seems to be working pretty well. The great majority of the hair growing back are the white ones. The bummer is that I have quite a few white hairs. Would it make sense to dye my beard before a treatment? Would that have any effect on the laser?

I just asked my laser tech this very question.
She said a solid no then warned against anyone claiming it would work because they tried a professional product in thier spa and it did nothing.

She said what I already knew. The white hairs only die with electrolosis.

I was afraid of that. Thanks.

hairs are too tight a fit in their follicles for dye to reach the necessary lower parts.

I saw some magic potion advertised recently and asked my laserist about it but she said waste of time as basically there is no way to get liquids down follicles as otherwise all the workers who get chemicals on their skins would have non-stop eczema/boils/zits and other nasties.

It's the follicles not the hair . You cannot dye follicles.
