so i'm interested in knowing what style of clothing you guys tend to gravitate to? ;) I'm kind of a feminine guy. and the style of clothing i usually wear is kind of preppy with like rock and roll influence, i usually add some girly touches too. none of this has any impact on my passing. i pass 100% on the street. I guess its kind of hard to describe yourself on the net :P But, if any of you watch glee 8) i look exactly like Kurt haha
I'm feminine beyond belief, but until I get top surgery I have to stick with jeans and t-shirts for the most part--though I'm going to go out and try and get an outfit like this (http://quizilla.teennick.com/user_images/D/DO/DOL/Dolly665/1198708553_MiyaviDork.jpg) (XD And I busted up laughing at the picture, though I think Miyavi is still absolutely gorgeous even with his finger up his nose). I think the style I like most is called "visual kei" or something...and if I could pull that off how I currently look, I'd definitely go for it. I love the flashyness and everything about it. xD
I'm too cheap to have a style. I just wear jeans and hoodies, and T shirts, or button downs
My style ranges from goth boy with my tripp pants and motorcycle boots to button up shirts with the sleeves rolled up, solid color shirts, and jeans

Pretty much this. Lol.
I generally lean towards punk designs though. Also, as Lukas has already mentioned, visual kei. I buy a lot of visual kei stuff when I actually have the money. However, since I'm poor, I'll just buy jeans, hoodies, button downs, etc.

THIS.
i used to have a style, slightly, but now im tight as hell with dollar cause of saving for therapy sessions, T, surgery etc etc.
To pass in my town, you need to look really "emo" or skate. Alot of guys here look like trendy douchebags that worship the Jersey Shore, but I would never try to act like someone I'm not just to pass as male. i think skinny jeans show off my hips too much, so i wear slim straight jeans, flannels, band merch. I dont skate, I longboard and Because I'm a small guy I get my jeans at CCS.COM, where they have jeans in 28" inseam.
I tend to dress goth, but I have days where I just throw a pair of jeans and a t shirt. I have been known to dress kinda feminine more or less. I guess it depends on my mood. Lately I've just been whatever so yea.
I just wear jeans and a band shirt normally. Sometimes I'll wear New Rocks and trousers like these - http://www.attitudeclothing.co.uk/product_19750-64-994_Dead-Threads---Terror-Pants.htm (http://www.attitudeclothing.co.uk/product_19750-64-994_Dead-Threads---Terror-Pants.htm)
Really hard to say I have one particular style ... cause I totally don't. I go for things that I like and then if they actually look good on me, I buy them. If I had to list what was in my closet I would say: a whole lot of jackets (because I'm a jacket whore! I could probably wear a different jacket every day of the month. Like lots of "hipster" retro jackets, faux leather, jean, etc), a whole pile of t-shirts - mostly from Threadless or other wacky companies and some band t's, a handful of of button down shirts, a whole array of skinny jeans, a metric ton of sneakers (even though I usually only wear one or two pair consistently) and a pair of doc martins, a bunch of hoodies, a bunch of different belts, and scarves.
I dress normally usually just t-shirt and jeans, I love sweatshirts, sweaters and coats for the winter though. I wear thermals a lot and like my dad tend to overdress for anything over casual occasions. I have a great pair of khakis and I love buttondowns and ties and just got a blazer from urban outfitters.
Normal. I usually stick with standard regular fit jeans/slacks with a T-shirt (sometimes plain, sometimes my rock-n-roll shirts), button-down (plain George, flannel etc) and occasionally my Levi trucker jacket with the sleeves cut off. If it's cold out, I throw on my shirt-jacket or else if it's really cold, my faux shearling.
Eighty-Eight and Helix are my favorite button-down brands of all but I only have a few of them, because $45 is outrageous so I only buy them on-sale for $15-20 at Sears, K-Mart etc. at the end of the year deals.
And... I usually stick with darker colors or just plain black/grays (all of my jackets, jeans, slacks and most of my shirts are black). Electric blue and Forrest green suit me very well also, so those are basically my only two colors of clothes in button-downs beside the black LOL.

another visual kei lover here
I didn't know guys here liked that stuff. I feel less alone.
this thread needs pictures :P
So, three of us are for visual kei? XD Sweet! No longer alone! *dances*
>> I can't get my first outfit for awhile. ><; And I want it now.
I've got more of a rock'n'roll style than anything. Plaid button ups, jeans, sneakers. Simple, but effective. I pretty much live in Buckle/BKE.
I am very masculine and I like to dress in a preppy way or a sophisticated way. I'm kind of snobby in a way (No one is perfect so don't hate me) but I usually only feel that way toward girls and boys who don't take care of their selfs when they can (Some rich kids I know dress like their from the ghetto) I'm poor myself but I try very hard to take care of myself and I lose all respect for people who can and don't. I feel that way toward transphobic people too. Does that make me a bad person? I really don't want to be a bad person.
Lol am i the only one who.dresses hip hoo on here flatcaps and hoddys for me no.tifht jeans or ->-bleeped-<- no thanks im fare from fem in my dress sence. lol i shave my hiar and wear baggy jeans no emo lol. i guess alot of the way i dress is cuz i love hip hop. And as a kid looked up to rappers. Funny thing is im fare from gangsta lol. I guess i like to look.tuff
Hipster-y I guess. V-necks, sweaters and scarves. Button downs, with the occasional bow tie for quirk. Skinny jeans and simple vans or converses, mostly because they're easy to find to fit. I think I'd be more stylish if I could buy things off-the-rack; being short calls for some sacrifices.
easy answer: stoner.
I've got the shaggy mane... the baggy pants.... fun hats ect... [although that comes more from my gnomely style than the "stoner" style]
I dress the way I've always dressed. I look like I crawled out of a sewer in 1993. Really, I've got that whole grunge/alternative thing going on from the '90's. I do wear hoodies and stuff, but mainly baggy jeans and shorts. I'm a beanie whore and probably own close to 40 beanies.
I guess artsy, hipster-ish? Lots of flannels, skinny jeans, band shirts, etc.
I don't think I have a style. Just jeans (or shorts in warm weather) and t-shirts. To "dress-up" I wear khaki, navy, or black slacks and a polo or button-down. Mostly neutral colors.
Slightly off-topic: What's visual kei?
Boring/classic. Plain T-shirts (sometimes band shirts), fitted polos, a few buttondowns, a few hoodies. Relaxed straight or boot cut jeans, skate shoes or Docs.
A really boring one lol.
I have a few pairs of black pants, a few plain T-shirts of varying colors (from dark blue to black to brown,) and one pair of shoes. The joys of maleness, my clothes can be as boring as I like.

>> I can't get my first outfit for awhile. ><; And I want it now.
I love Visual Kei stuff. I don't have any of it, but I still love it.
My style is my own. It's basically the only way to put it.
I like to be stylish when I can, even if it's just a modest, muted style, which it usually is at this point because I don't "go out" much and I'm usually lazy -- so long as I look good I don't press it right now unless I feel like it. I guess it's a casual style right now? Jeans, button-ups with rolled sleeves, hoodies when I feel like it.
I like to mix things up though, combine styles or add something most people don't/wouldn't wear. I like a lot of classic styles, Victorian Era fashion (though not necessarily traditional Victorian Era fashion), bits and pieces from others. I actually like reading articles about men's style and taking things from them and adding my own little twists to everything. It all sounds really eclectic, and eccentric (which isn't a bad thing, I don't think), but I make sure it looks good, too. I sort of did this for my brother's wedding and went all out with the style: I got nothing but compliments.
I'm a big believer that a guy has to look (and smell) good -- damn good if he can.
I really see my style expanding more once I'm on T, or even once I finally get a couple binders (which I really need to do). No doubt once I fit the clothes better, I'm going to be experimenting even more, and really amping up my style.
Plus, once I get rid of my glasses (whether with contacts or Lasik) I'm totally gonna rock aviators -- I'll have a small collection, at the least.
Now that T has finally decided to melt most of my curves away, I'm able to wear pretty much any guys clothes that I want..
I used to be more on the "punk" side of style (lots of black, band shirts, sarcastic/ witty t-shirts, tripps) though I think my reasoning for dressing that way was because it wasn't horribly femme. For the past year or so I've been getting more and more into a sort of "preppy" style. Some Hollister, some Aeropostale... Where I shop kind of depends on how many hours I'm getting at work. Haha. I dress to be comfortable and to be confident. If I feel good in what I'm wearing, my self confidence boosts and I feel better about passing.
=]
I dress... well, like a dork.
Black t-shirts, cargo pants (I have one pair that I wear every day; it's the only piece of male clothing I own other than a pair of formal-type shorts), black hoodie. Big boots; 14-holed Underground steelcaps, made in England. A long trenchcoat-type black coat.
I wish I could dress better (well, and look good in it), I wanna be a gothy kind of guy, but t-shirts and baggy pants are easier. I'm far too lazy to think of what I wear, so it's better to dress simple than to have many elaborate pieces of clothing.
Anything influenced by goth, punk, military, sci-fi. Too bad where I live, the in-style for guys is redneck...I'm just not that into real-tree camo though (regular camo is fine, however).
Now I'm going to look up visual kei.
I think my style is pretty run-of-the-mill. I wear straight fit jeans, t-shirts, flannel button-downs, cargo shorts and the occasional sweater vest.
However, I only have one pair of shoes I ever really wear. I got them quite a long time ago and I think they're pretty distinctive. I don't even know if they're guy's shoes.

I usually wear jeans and a button up or polo. I love looking nice. I like my hoodies too.

Haha this is very true for me as well! If I could afford the kind of clothes I really want, I'd classify the style as mostly military/European inspired. Kind of broad and all over the place, but that's me.

Yeah, in the wonderful white balance of that photo, you can't see the big mud stains :P (C'mon, if you wear the same pair of white shoes enough, they get dirty doncha know.)
Classic troublemaker attire, I guess. Shaggy hair, basic, not particularly busy printed tees (like a lot of 80s tees with a logo on the chest and nothing else), dark jeans, black trench coat when the weather demands it.
When I'm lazy, skinny jeans and t shirt. Maybe some eyeliner.
When I'm feeling sexy, visual kei or kodona. All out makeup.
I'm a full on British Modernist (Mod). My style icons are Jam era Paul Weller, Steve Mariott and various current faces in the scene. Mod pretty much is all about a clean cut, 60s-based style with button down, large collar shirts, tonic suits, levi jeans, sta-prest or chino trousers, clean roundneck or vneck knitwear, monkey or harrington jackets, winklepicker toes, chelsea boots, desert boots, driving loafers, adidas originals trainers and a parka when it's cold or you're on a scooter. It's all about taking a very old fashioned style but being an individual in how you put it together. Unfortunately most of us are also horrible fashion snobs but to be fair we seem to rip the hell out of each other more than everyone else. And they call girls bitches... :D ;)
SnailPace, those shoes are awesome, I want some.
I'm not entirely sure if my outfit today counts as Visual Kei but this is my usual day to day style....low key visual kei? :P

I tend to go between preppy and skater styles. graphic/skate tees or polos, hoodies, plaid or solid colored shorts (jeans if it's cooler out), skate shoes usually sometimes flip flops. sometimes i'll wear flat brims (famous, dc, matix, etc.). don't skate anymore but love the style. most of my clothes are from ae, pac sun, old navy, journeys for shoes or a lot of times i just buy them online. i work full time and spend a lot of that time outside so comfort is huge for me

He's the second one from stage-right.
I'd post a lot more, but I'm going through giggles because I keep staring at all of the bands that do visual kei. Like Dir en Grey.
Preppy/teenage guy kinda style for me. Hoodies, button downs, lots of sweaters with a tee underneath, graphic tees with logos from the name brand places. Slim straight or extra slim jeans with dress shoes usually. I wear running shoes sometimes with hoodies. I like to look nice, I am gay after all lol. Pretty much all of my clothes come from Express, AE, Hollister, and Aeropostale.
I dress masculine I don't and havent owned any female garment for over 5 yrs. I wear mostly sweats and a t-shirt or hoody. No female garment is gonna touch this body not even socks or a feminine hat. I like bright psychidelic colors but glitter and sequens and all that is a no go. I keep my head shaved and wear stocking caps all the time. I like a splash of color but I like to dress more for comfort then for style.
My natural tendency is toward formal wear... suits, vests, ties, dress shirts, slacks, loafers, peacoats, fedoras, etc.
Unfortunately it's difficult for me to maintain that style very long while binding, especially in warmer weather. So I tend to just wear shorts, flipflops and T-shirts - at least during summer. Thankfully in winter I can actually hide my chest with layers and jackets and look formal without even binding, in most cases.
Well sheet... I usually go for a swag mixed with some grunge junk... I don't know Nike Air Forces or High Tops, skinny jeans hanging off my ass, v-neck under shirts and faded cut with steps in my hair. When I get fancy, it's baggy cargo's, button-ups and v-neck sweaters... then I've got some crazy A-symmetrical piercings including 00 gauges and sooo yeah. I guess I dress like that to surprise people because when I open my mouth they can actually have an educated conversation with me. I suppose this would be just what I go for, if I had the money I'd get it all.
Whatever Target sells me. Or Old Navy.
I sometimes get handmedowns from my brothers, which tend to be more hip than my usual wear.
If I had a style, it would be a WWII frontsoldaten cold gear uniform. Oh maaaan I would wear that everyday...
Free stuff! I get most of my clothing from "reuse" which is basically a bunch of stuff that people leave up for grabs. Jeans, sweatpants, cargo shorts/pants, T-shirts.
That and I really like my MIT 2011 sweater (I might be class of 2015!). I found it in reuse. :D

I have a lot of Fox, TLD, Dakine, Sombrio, West 49, Point Zero, Fire Fly, Billabong, Helly Hanson, Sims, etc. clothing... mostly what I wear, Nike Shoes. Jeans, t-shirts, hat (either baseball style or a fedora), Nixon watch, and hoodies. Once in a while I'll throw on a nice plaid or plain dress shirt instead of a hoody.
Typical me:
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsphotos.ak.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-ak-snc4%2Fhs011.snc4%2F33888_10150274023295220_789905219_14993015_5586388_n.jpg&hash=9b75fcebfcffb3eab8f7a343b5f7670e2ea03fa9)
Lots of GAP, REI and Urban Outfitters....so mainly Ts and jeans, button ups, corduroys, outdoors clothing/rock climbing styles.
I have NO style. I'm a over sized clothing walmart guy :/ Sad I know. If I had the cash (and got rid the female fat in my thighs and ass) I'd like to be more of a hipster I guess. I have a lot of items that could fit into hipster if they weren't 50 sizes too big for me :)
I really don't have a particlar style, but I usually wear a t-shirt, and wear a plaid button up over it with a pair of jeans. Or I'll wear my OSU hoodie over a t-shirt with jeans. Then I'll wear my tribal ring and Nixon watch.
Plaid FTW!!! Glad I'm not the only one here who loves their plaid. Seems that a few of you guys do.

I like to stay between the genders: in a male clothing shop, i look for the most "girly" pieces. And in a women's clothing shop, i search for the most male-look clothes ;3

same here
I'm a "comfortable and forgiving" gear sort of guy right now. I'm not on T so an any sort of red or blue and white plaid over t shirt, cargo pants or jeans, fleeces, trainers and outdoors type of gear.
If I passed though I'd wear pale blue shirts, shirts with a floral or unconventional pattern with black or dark blue jeans for a smart casual look. I like dark reds and being well past 40 and outgoing I could carry off an "eccentric academic" look as well.
How'd you figure out my secret identity? O_o
in alll honesty, had to look up who/what that was
I dont have a set style. My mood determines what I wear for the day. Sometimes I dress "preppy" abercrombie, AE, or Hollister. But most of the time I dress pretty chill. I wear a lot of Pacsun clothes, brands like volcom, DC, and stuff like that. I like to be comfortable.
i look like a stylish asian male; lots of semi-formal outfits: button-ups, ties, vests, skinny jeans, etc.
Generally wear trackies, trainers and as tight a t-shirt as I feel comfortable in (cos my t-shirt muscles are growing, yay!) for every day. For going out I wear smart jeans, a button-down shirt, a jumper and nice Converse. Apparently I look like Gavin from the tv show Gavin and Stacey (2nd from left in this pic): http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/apr/24/bbc.television1 (http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2008/apr/24/bbc.television1)
skinny jeans, cons, button-ups, and band t shirts is usually my thing, I like to throw in the occasional vest. :D
I love the so call preppy look.
If I had money to spare I would be buying scarves and blazers by the boatload. For now I just stick to layering with button down shirts and tee-shirts and occasionally a zip up sweater

When I wear that, the guys in my men's group make lesbian jokes.
They make a lot of lesbian jokes about me.
I favor Rockports, Levi's (never wear any other pants, actually), and Jos. Bank shirts. Usually plaid. Not always flannel. But if it's plaid of any sort, still with the lesbian jokes.
Funny thing is, they have no idea about my past. Kills me every time.
(A couple also make Volvo jokes, hahahaha. Um, I drive one. :P)
I consider myself to have a split style personality. I go between ironed sweater vests to wrinkled button downs and band tees. Or sarcastic ones, if I have any on hand. I'm not very fashionable but I like to think I have good taste... I just don't usually apply it to my life.
Mostly what I wear every day is muscle shirts or t-shirts and jeans or sports pants, with sneakers or men's sandals. I'm a geek so I like t-shirts with geeky sayings.

Funny thing is, they have no idea about my past. Kills me every time.
(A couple also make Volvo jokes, hahahaha. Um, I drive one. :P)
LOL I haven't gotten that yet.
I dressed this way pre-transition, but was not and did not look like a lesbian (long hair, feminine). But yeah I see what you mean.

People sometimes called me "dyke" and "lesbo" even when I wasn't wearing flannel. :P
It's been cold and rainy in my city, so people are turning to warmer clothing. I went to discussion the other night. I was wearing a plaid shirt, not flannel. P started to make the lesbian joke and then seemed to remember that he was wearing a plaid flannel shirt. We all had a good laugh about that.
I don't really have a style. Sure, sometimes I keep up with the trends because I have a very girly sister who likes to pick out clothes for me, but it's not feminime. It's actually very masculine. But my clothing choice is usually jeans, shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. No big idea. I like keeping it casual, but I want to look good to.
Polo shirts polo shirts polo shirts. Hurley, Fox, Quiksilver, Volcom, Reef, ONeil. Board shorts galore and sandals. All i wear is shorts tees flip flops and polos. Primarily hats though. I have more hats than you can imagine.
Hunter, you must live in Florida or something. I'm jealous of you warm-weather people...Seattle's great for some things, but not for shorts.
It mostly depends on my mood but I like button down shirts a lot. Polos and whatnot. And I wear baggy jeans basically always because God decided it'd be great to give me huge hips. If I don't feel like dressing up the just jeans and a tee shirt. I'm not too fancy, haha.
