Title: Next Hurdle jumped
Post by: Pippa on October 20, 2010, 06:28:51 PM
I got a copy of a letter to my GP today.   It is from the local NHS trust giving the go ahead for the financing of my transition and SRS!  ;D

The trust will fund below the waist surgery and where required, breast enhancement.   They won't pay for facial surgery so I will have to pay for any tweaks myself.

Most annoying is their refusal to pay for speech therapy.   At the moment, I think I pass OK visually (I don't get too many strange looks) but as soon as I open my mouth it is a dead give away and it is something that really gets me down.  I was hoping for some help to feminise my voice.

So on to the next few hurdles of therapy, RLT etc.

Today, I am in a good mood.  :)
