Title: Voice training at home for the financially challenged
Post by: Aegir on October 22, 2010, 11:38:22 PM
Has anyone found/got internet resources for voice training online, or is this the sort of thing you absolutely need a professional for? I'm personally asking on behalf of an RL MtF friend who hasn't yet/maybe will join the board, but if FtM resources exist online I'm kind-of interested in those too.

Kathe Perez (http://www.youtube.com/user/tgvoice) is a leading voice therapist and is on YouTube.  And you can find Frequency tuners (http://www.frequencytuner.solcon.nl/) on line.

Tell your friend to watch female only chat shows...sounds silly, but I've been told by my counsellor that a lot of her MtF clients watch something called loose women to learn more feminine speech patterns.

I've not done any kind of training or practice, and I seem to do ok...it just kind of happened naturally in my case, though loads of friends have said that I didn't really talk like a guy anyway.
