Title: Sitting
Post by: A on October 28, 2010, 08:05:57 PM
I've always felt uncomfortable with spreading my legs (you know, like a V) while sitting, so generally my knees have always stayed together. But after a while my inner calves start hurting. Nothing horrible, but enough to make me feel uncomfortable. I can try to cross legs (which eventually hurts my knees and can in the long term damage the back)/sit indian-style (which is uncomfortable on a chair)/put a foot under my other knee (which can damage the bak too)/stand up/do something else but it's generally not much better.

So it basically means I can't sit "up straight" for a long time. Why is this ? Could it be because my parts are being an obstacle (but I doubt it, because they don't hurt at all... Actually, they rarely ever hurt ; I'm not even very sensitive to "kicks in the nuts") ? Or something about my hips being small ?

And it's certainly not the lack of habit, as I've done this forever.

Sitting for me has been OK. I have always crossed my legs and kicked my foot. I've done this since I was young. I was always  a little self conscience about this. But I have RLS (jimmy legs) So I have to move them all the time. Now  that I go out En femme I love to cross my legs and kick my foot and in a skirt and nice shoes I just love the look. :o

I have trouble keeping my legs together or crossing them in a feminine manner, but I've been practicing. At 5'11" and 250 pounds, though, it's not easy. I'm trying to lose weight, and I hope that will help. I carry most of my weight on my belly, but there's a fair amount on my inner thighs. If only I could move it to the outside of my thighs!

I usually sit with my legs crossed at the knees.  Or one leg under me.  I have always sat this way, and it would drive my ex nuts.  I actually had to force myself to sit "like a guy", her words, with the legs in the "V" formation.

Well, I think I do this pretty often, but it doesn't appear to place any more strain on muscles...

But my extra weight (not obese but still way too much) and the fact I still have male-distributed fat may be playing a role here.

I didn't quite get the TV show thing though.

QuoteAs to sitting why not sit with your legs closed gently turned to your right or left just slightly. I have seen many upper class women sit this way at cocktail parties

I have sat like this as long as I can remember.   Musta heard 'Sit properly' ten thousand times.

yeah thats why I cross my legs.

My natal gfs tell me after GCS that it'll be easier to keep my legs closed.

And something that no one else seems to have mentioned.. Just cross your ankles while your legs are tucked slightly under the chair you are sitting in, but remember to keep your legs together - the knees don't need to touch.
