The first attempt to prosecute a person for transphobic abuse has collapsed after a charge against Lindsay Kennedy was dropped by the Crown.

The 26-year-old had been due to face a pre-trial hearing on the groundbreaking criminal charge of carrying out a transphobic attack at Perth Sheriff Court.

Ms Kennedy was not present when the case was "not called" and dropped without explanation by the Crown at the intermediate diet stage.

The woman committed two criminal offenses. Now, it appears, she will go free, because instead of being charged with these established offenses, she was charged with one of the persecution offenses.

very silly.

I think Professor Farnsworth summarizes my view on the matter...

Farnsworth has had enough. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhnN54tHjkI#ws)

I've had people taken to court and fined for transphobic abuse but I've also had our local Prosecutor refuse to prosecute on similar grounds purely because she didn't want her throat slitting by member sof the 'ethnic' community she came from.
