Im going on holiday in less then two weeks (i think) to the canaries. Now 2 people on this holiday, my aunty and my unofficial 12 year old brother have no idea im trans, my dad refuses to tell the family because of the impact it will have on them. We kind of worked out a deal also that i would not change my name or tell the family until after my assessment with the NHS as long as he agreed to go to a session and try to get his head around it.
Anyways back on track, basically im stuck i really dont want to wear a bikini top. I've bought normal swim shorts but a binder with a tee over the top is going to be obviously a flat chest to anyone. So i dont know what to do, shall i wear a binder? im not sure if the water will ruin it...tbh im not looking forward to this at all. I will have to shave, im not sure if i should wear my binder during the day because of said reasons and also because of the heat. If i wear a bikini i will feel crap and my dad will be over the moon. Either way chilling out is not going to happen at all.
:-\
Thomas I wear my binder in the pool and I haven't seen that it has effected mine at all.
I have been wearing a t-shirt and board shorts to swim in for years ... long before I accepted myself as male. I really had no one question me why I did it either....same with my son.

Oh right cheers, i might wear the binder then
Just putting this in: I don't think you should shave if you don't want to. There are women who don't shave so he can't use it as "breaking the deal" or something.
The water won't hurt your binder.
But if you don't want to bind (swimming with a binder isn't precisely the most comfortable experience, all the movement encourages rolling) you can just wear a sports bra or sports-bra-shaped bikini top under a swim shirt. Or even just a tight tank top or something under the swim shirt, if you're relatively small.
For many years I did things to satisfy my "Family"..... It wasn't until I just said fudgit i'm tired of trying to please everyone, my turn and expressed myself and I was truly happy, my family has some slower then others have come around and accept me for me :)
I'm going to agree with SnailPace and say that you shouldn't shave if you don't want to. Plenty of bio females don't shave, and I personally find it ridiculous that all female bodied people are expected to shave everything anyway. I also wouldn't wear a bikini top if you don't want to. I don't see how wearing a T-shirt could be offensive to anyone, so if you don't want to cause a stir by binding you could just wear a tight sports bra under your T-shirt.
Well a tight sports bra is a good idea but I'm not small chested I'm like a D so it ends up having the opposite effect and bunching them up and making it more obvious, they don't flatten at all an when the t-shirt gets wet it's going to be obvious. I also know what my family is like they will all be encouraging me to take the tee off and get some sun to my body lol. We don't get much in England so really it's the only chance.
I won't take my tee off I think it might be best if i wear one with a normal bikini top as it won't bunch them up and make it more obvious
