Hey, fellow humans. At least, I think we all are.
So, I'm new here, and I saw this thread and thought, "Well..might as well give it a shot." And here I am.
My name is Alex, I am a FtM (pre-op). As a kid, I always fit in really well with the boys and did, well, boy-ish things. I think as a kid, my mom didn't care how I dressed because she figured I was just being a kid. But when I hit seventh and eighth grade, I began trying to fit in with the girls. I would wear girlie clothing and style my hair like a girl. The end of eighth grade is actually when I first noticed my attraction to women. So, in the ninth grade, I reverted to dressing like a boy, though I still acted like a girl. I was the typical giggling, blushing girl around anyone that I even remotely liked. I guess you could say I grew out of that behavior, but I believe it was just my mind trying to make me fit in. (I had been bullied for three years because I didn't fit in.) In the summer before my tenth grade year, I began identifying as male. I had already taken on my nickname, "Alex." I changed all my accounts to address me as a male and asked my closest friends to as well. My friends typically respect that, and because there are some that I am very close to, they call me by my legal name, but try to use male pronouns. And, well, this is where I am now. Tenth grade, high school, fifteen years old, and a FtM desperately in want of a deeper voice and a male body. Finally, after two years, my mom allowed me to cut my hair short (she hates it.) I've also only been out to her for a week as lesbian (straight if you so choose to view me as male at this current time), but I'm too afraid to come out to her as transgender yet. So..that's why I'm here. I'd love to hear back from some people.
