Title: Laser Hair Removal for Chest?
Post by: caitlin_adams on November 05, 2010, 07:38:53 PM
I've just booked in for my first laser hair removal session for my face and neck and was wondering whether I should also get my chest and tummy done too.

I'm 26 and averagely hirsute (an average amount of hair).

Does HRT adequately feminize the hair on the stomach and chest or will I be unusually hairy?

I've been advised to wait a bit and let the HRT kick in, because it does clear down. I'm noticing clear patches now. If it's being stubborn after a few months a couple of zaps might really help get rid of it in conjunction with HRT.

I had my chest, stomach, legs and armpits lasered, so now I'm pretty hairless - which suits me.  But I was perhaps too eager to get rid of the hair.  (I'm happy the hair is gone, but perhaps I didn't need to spend the money.)

Helena's advice is good.  Give the hormones a chance to do their work before you decide about getting your body lasered.

Been on HRT for 15 months and body hair is now fine and light compared to what it used to be and I shave only every 7-10 days now.

I would hold off and let the hormones work.

Totally agree with Jamie.  Same has happened to me, and I'm more "haired-out" than many here.  Get into your HRT for at least a year, maybe more.  You may not have to spend so much money and endure the discomfort.

I am at 31 months HRT, and about the only thing that is still dark is my arms.  But I just use an epilator.

Had my second face laser a few weeks back. I had so little left after one session I suggested doing chest and tummy as well, since I had booked the time. Great results as well, she also did my bikini, and since I was wearing a thong it was an interesting experience   ::). But the tech did say I probably got good results because of HRT.
