This saying has always been important to me, but it really hit home while reading another thread recently
It was brought up that transitioning or being a transsexual is not a fad gadget or something to play about with but rather a serious life changing matter that requires one to be honest with one's self
True this... If there is anyone that it is most important to be honest with... It is yourself
Sure, the current "Gate keeper" system in place annoys the hecks out me... I think it is out dated and needs to be re-vamped
I can barely keep up with the costs as it is, I have to pay to have some other people judge me as to if I qualify to be myself or not? Plus the costs of tests and med.s... Plus I have to save up for the big day?
Yes, making life changing decisions does require being honest with yourself... That is a rather obvious truth
It is also rather obvious that the only true requirement under the current system is the ability to dole out the dollars
All we can do is to be true to ourselves. I too think that we should be allowed to go through transition.
But it is also good that we have to because of idiots like Charles Kane, who circumvented the SOC because he thought women have it easier.
I understand how the costs are hard to met, when you are struggling to pay the rent. Thank the gods I have friends who are trying to help.
Thank you Janet
Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a griper and I'm glad to hear that you have friends trying to help You deserve it
It's just that I see so many folks struggling just to make their day to day ends meet and then they have to deal with their GID and find a way to make their transitions happen... I deeply feel for them
Then I also see these conceited "more trans than thou" types on parade and it makes me ill... Especially when I hear that mommy and/or daddy paid for it
But then I also remember that everyone's GID and need for transition is real and valid and so I am happy for them (in a bit of an off way) But happy for them non the less
And yes... Charles Kane was the topper that really set me off
Anyway... That's my gripe :P
Two gals I love dearly are on this thread so far. Hmmm ..., how can I NOT reply?
@ Virginia Marie:
Woman, you have "spoken the unspeakable" with this thread. So, what the heck am I talking about? What I mean is that you've exposed the Gatekeeper System for what it actually is ... a "moralistic" ... Money Machine.
The Holiday Season is upon us. Sadly, as far as "The Way of the World" is concerned, the Holiday Season is all about money, honey ... first, last and always ..., and don't you forget it. Just one time, if the merchants and the system were honest, I think I'd have a damned heart attack from the shock.
Why don't they just say, "Merry Moneymas!!!!" ? I'm off topic, ... sorry.
Back ON topic, "Merry Christmas!" to us transsexuals would be having the permission and the means to simply transition and FINALLY be ourselves. We all know that THAT ain't gonna happen any time soon ... definitely not in THIS lifetime. We've got to grin and bear it, hon ... sigh. :-X
Still thinkin' about that Girls' Night Out ... love the idea! ;)
@ Janet Lynn:
Faith, Babes ... FAITH! Keep the faith! :D
Peace ... Lacey Lynne
When we replace the word MONEY with the word SHARE, the possibilities are breathtaking:

Am I a delirious adolescent dreamer in my second pubescence? Damn right! There're others!
It is also rather obvious that the only true requirement under the current system is the ability to dole out the dollars
Offer pretty much limited to the United States only, because by tradition this is the way the United States has always operated. And you're right, it sucks - until you start reading about how they do it everywhere else, and, at the very least, money is not a value, its a neutral deal, not a moral deal.
Thank you all for your replies
