I have tried to access chat several times, but I keep getting a message saying that it is unable to connect to server. Is this a problem with the server, or is it an issue on my side? I'd love to be able to chat with everyone.
Maybe an issue on your side as I was just in chat.
Seems like the chat server is down. I tried using my IRC client and the java client here on the site and it's definitely not responding.
I still get the same message, but other online chat clients are working just fine. Does anyone have any ideas for what to try to fix this?

might be a java client bug, I don't see anything on our end (proxycheck akill) that stopped you, there's another user with same isp so nothing bad there.
might want to try pidgen, chatzilla, or one of many irc clients.
