Post by: justme19 on November 11, 2010, 08:40:16 PM

Im terrible with crying over things, I herd a really sad story on the radio, were a little boy got cancer and had to have both of his eyes remouved.
I was in tears are so was was my mum, it was really quite sad :( I don't so much cry over movies, because usually im with a group of friends and I have to hold it back?

I would get choked up pretty easy but not cry.

Since starting HRT, it doesn't take much for me to get teary.   I'm able to control it much better now though. :)

I get choked up all the time over little things, that my ex wife wouldn't even bat an eyelash at.  I haven't even started HRT. I am worried I am going to be a weepy mess all the time, lol.

I learned a long time ago to hide my tears.  I would express things in angry outbursts. But now I know that it is just all that early training.  I am now allowing myself to cry and it is such a relief to just cry.

I've noticed that I'm much more emotional than before and I cry way to easily... A big change from someone who rarely would ever cry for anything

I remember as a young child I would start crying very easily, and I hated it at the time. These days I feel like I cannot even cry when I feel that I should... and I hate it.  :-\

Oh my! I have been around for a LONG time and the ol' waterworks work just fine! I am among the tear-iest of all my women friends but also among the most openly emotional. I laugh more openly, vent my annoyance openly, and tear up openly.

I don't mind - it's okay to express one's feelings.

When orf the HRT a few months back I was a tad more weepy than usual....

And what triggered a spat, was reading about a TG woman who almost died from a brutal attack..... some gay chaps in fact went to her rescue but it was a close call....

As the sh#ts that had attacked her, had deeply wounded her neck.....she was very lucky to live.... and there was a pick of her lying on the ground clutching at her neck....

And yep some films usually foreign sub-title type ones that are not the naff hollywood obviously sentimental messing ones... they can get me.

Like this one....

XXY Fan Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLBo4ddS4eY#)

The scene where she's attacked is very upsetting....

I cry easily. I used to get angry, when I didn't understand my feelings and emotions, but I just cry when I feel sad.

I cry so easily now. Before HRT, my emotions ranged from feeling nothing, to feeling depressed, and anger/passive-aggression was the only way I dealt with it. I love crying, it feels so good, even if I feel horrible, and it's so much better as an emotional release than anger ever was. I never used to be able to cry.

(Edit for spelling)

I've always been a very emotional person, and from early childhood I cried easily. This led to people (including my step-mom) calling me a sissy, etc. I learned to turn my emotions inward, which wasn't exactly healthy, but people left me alone. I am nearly 8 months into HRT now, but it's only been the past three weeks or so that my emotional expression has really ramped up. I can just think of someone I miss now, and get teary-eyed. I've straight out bawled quite a few times as well. It's nice to finally be able to release again instead of swallowing everything until it turns on me.

not at al!

and I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!

One of the things I most want from HRT is just that. I'd rather be a "weepy mess" than a cold fish.

Easily enough I'd say... Last week I was brought to tears because I couldn't make brownies for my party... It was looking forward to spending the evening baking them and getting compliments on them (I make really good brownies) but we were out of ingredients and everything was closed. It the logical part in me knew it wasn't the end of the world and it didn't really make a bit of difference whether they were my brownies or store bought brownies, but suffice it to say I was a weepy mess for a bit.

Crazy estrogen addling my brain!

I can totally sympathize with you on this, since I went through the same. 12-18. Needless to say, it was less than fun, and definitely turned me into a cynic. There were times where I just could not feel emotion, and I would look in the mirror, and see that while I was physically alive, I could see my dead looking eyes, staring right back, unblinking, no show of feelings. Being able to cry and show real emotions has been so amazing and liberating for me.

I've never had problems expressing emotions, especially with tears. Songs on the radio, episodes of The Simpsons, cheesy bits in movies. . .It never takes much to get my eyes leaking. I developed a strong sense of empathy several years into puberty and since then controlling emotions was my major issue.

Only after I started HRT did I gain that control. (And subsequently felt it waver after a change in regimen. Thankfully I'm starting to regain it.)

I WANT to cry very easily (you know, when your throat feels funny), but I actually need efforts to cry even when I am extremely sad, and it usually gets blocked after a maximum of 5 minutes, replaced by useless anger and agressivity, and a weird fake feeling of rancour. Gotta love testosterone.

Crying and HRT?  I think its like which came first, the chicken or the egg?  In my experience, HRT makes you more emotional, but I think dealing with the gender issues also frees you up to be more emotional.  I redoubled my efforts to get on HRT after I couldn't shed a tear during Titanic.  After being on HRT for a while I watched Simon Burch and couldn't stop crying, though I still beleive its as much about breaking down emotional barriers as it is the effect of the HRT itself.

I cry only over serious emotional things, let's say once every 4-6 months, k.

Tomorrow is my sisters birthday.
She lives in another state so I wrote her an email wishing her a happy birthday.
And I started tearing up just because I miss her and wish I could be with her.
Wow and I have never felt emotions like that before.
I may be sad but it is wonderful to be able to feel.

If you turn out like me, you'll actually cry less if anything.  For all of my life nobody (boys, girls, chimpanzees included) cried easier than me, well besides maybe babies, literal babies I mean.  After HRT started I found I was so much happier, especially for the first 6 months or so when I was insulating myself from anything I thought might hurt me, that I really didn't cry that much.  Nowadays, living fully in harm's way, I probably cry about the same amount as I used to.  The difference, and this has been big, is how deeply I feel it when I get emotional.  I absolutely just fall into little bits!

I've always been emotional but rarely cried on the job. Going home I would then weep. Now is much the same, but I sort of like to share a cry with friends, sorry my sisters.  Crying is a release of  emotion, and healthy; a damn sight more healthy than bashing your fist into a wall and the wall wins.

Oh I don't cry any more know than before, I just don't hide it.

My tears would always come out whether I wanted them or not, even when my hormones were supposed to be 'raging'.
Now I just let them flow freely, I cry all the time and everywhere  :D

Yesterday we were driving on the hway and there was this most beautiful patch of fall trees and foliage that I had ever seen engulfing us from all sides as if nothing beyond existed, and soon enough I got that distinctive knot in my chest... oops! I just had a tear writing this!! :D

I have always been a cry baby but since taking hormones I have turned into a BIG cry baby. I cry over happy things as well as sad and what has really changed is that I can make myself cry in seconds, my best friend said that will come in handy if I ever get pulled over for speeding, just may work. Have a peachy day

I cry a lot more easily than I used to.  Honestly, I'm completely ok with crying now, which is probably why I can cry so much.  I'm a lot more open to my emotions, so sometimes really dumb, random things make me cry.  Like, when Uncle Iro on the Avatar cartoon sang "Leaves from the Vine" for his dead son.  Or when I saw a picture of this girl with a tattoo that said "I miss you too - Mommy."  Crying's not that big of a deal; you have to cry every once and a while :) although I admit I do get sick of it if I cry a lot in the span of a couple days.

Yesterday I -almost- cried while watching a Canadian Tire ad where a grandmother gets to see her grandchildren. It was weird, funny and fun.

It's funny the things that will trigger a person's tears. Even something as simple as an advertisement,  if it brings to mind feelings or memories of a loved one or just a general feeling, can cause one to shed a tear. I myself have never had the experience of crying "happy tears" until recently; I am falling in love with a very wonderful man who treats me as I have always craved and wanted, and just thinking about how much I love him can cause me to tear up while my heart swells with love and joy. =] it's such a nice feeling to have such powerful emotions.

I cry a lot. I cry when I'm in pain. I cry when I'm sad. I cry when I'm happy. I cry when I'm overwealmed. I cry when I'm lonely. I cry at movies. I cry at life changing events. I cried when Angel died near the end of Rent. I cry every time I get lasered.  I've never really held back my emotions, even when I was pretending to be a guy.

I keep hearing that HRT makes people cry more, so I wonder if I'll become a big cry baby when I start up on hormones. lol.

It is very hard for me to cry for many reasons I suppose.  I bought into that stereotype a little of guys you know not crying but what really synched it for me what often doing things alone.  Since I often ended up having to fight all my own fights alone on every front and never had a trustworthy shoulder to cry on till recently?  I convinced myself that I couldn't afford to cry or I'd lose the control I gained on many fronts.

That has been hard to overcome for me but slowly I'm allowing myself to cry more and I'm better for it.  It is really nice to let a sad story, movie, animation, that is very well done carry you along.  And with life I feel better after it.  Nobody should be as stupid as I once was on crying.
