I chose dyslexi because my dyslexia is such a big part of my life. hehe I was a nurse, mother and home maker to my severely disabled wife for 26 years till her death. I never really defined myself by gender which is probably why I am still alive. My father is violently homophobic and would not have been able to tell the difference. I just thought I was a loner who didn't fit in.
It was not till my female friends started telling me that I thought and had the feelings of a woman that everything finally clicked into place. I am waiting for my first interview with CAMH, God help me. It has been two months without a word sigh. I am pretty grounded in my acceptance of who I am so i am pretty mellow about it all. At 58 years old, I am not to caught up in the drama of transition though finding the right concealer foundation is driving me crazy!! lol
Welcome to Susan's Dyslexi :) Can I ask what CAMH is? If it it makes you feel any better I know way too many bio girls who still can't find the right concealer foundation either lol
Hi Dyslexi, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 4100 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

Just slightly younger than you, 56. ;D

It is the Center For Addiction And Mental Health. They have had the monopoly to approve or deny medical coverage for SRS for the last 40 years in Ontario. They are reviled by the tg community. They make you dress for a year before you can begin HRT. Most others are 3 months. There is a slew of other negative things about them but, they are th only place to go at the moment. In theory, the gov is licencing 4 more clincs to allow aproval for surgery . Waiting for an announcement to happen this winter. Fingers crossed
Hello Dyslex,

Thank you for explaining. I'm sorry they make you wait a year. That is insanity! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you as well. Good luck with your transition.
I do wish you well with Center For Addiction And Mental Health.
May they approve your medical coverage.
By the way I'm just across the border in Michigan.
Hello neighbor. (waves across the Great Lakes.) :icon_wave:

Oh by the way I am dyslexic and ADD to so If I was living in Ontario I would be on first name bases with Center For Addiction And Mental Health.

Hi, dyslexi
welcome from your dear friend
hugs
Antonia
I think there's a correlation....
Twix dyslexia and TG'ism.... as I and quite a few others share this trait....
Mines worse in the mornings....
But in many ways I suspect like with Aspergers you can also be very high functioning!
Welcome aboard....lol

I went through the entire school system undiagnosed. Did not help with my sense of isolation from all the other issues
