I'm not taking E yet but my testosterone level has dropped to the point that I dont have spontaineous or night time erections (yea!). I feel fine during the day but after my ADHD medication (Vyvance) wears off I am pretty tired in the evening. The biggest problem that I have had lately has been waking up covered in sweat (gross...). I throw the covers of then 2 minutes later I'm freezing to death like I'm in a walk-in cooler.
Are night sweats common and are they related to hot flashes? Will taking E make this better? I love having the lower T which is good because I'd have to get a prescription to get it raised at this point. The desire to transition is even stronger now with lower T so I guess that's a good thing... :-)
Welcome to the wild world of hormonal imbalances...
Right now your levels are probably a bit screwed up, I'd talk to your doctor and see if they can adjust your levels to the point where you're not getting these symptoms.
Edit: Not having any sex hormone in your system can definitely cause these symptoms... Your body is going WTF????
Yea, they are out of whack but I couldnt let the T have full controll of my body any longer. I am at much more peace but will have to get used to it or add estrogen because the T isnt coming back unless I get a script for it and I'm damned sure not going to pay money to put T in my body! :o
Even 18 months after starting HRT, if I miss an estrogen pill (I take one when I wake up and spread the rest throughout the day) and combine them, if I do this enough times within a few days my T levels go up and I get migraines, hot flashes, etc...
I'd definitely look in to getting something in your system soon.
After I had my Orchie I had hot flashes, The body was getting used to no testosterone at all. It last for about a month.
I would be doing nothing and I would be drenched in sweat. Eventually my body got use to just running on Estrogen and I was fine.
My prescription was late arriving. I should have had my injection last Thursday. I finally got it today. UGH !! that was a hard week. I hate night sweats.

The first year of HRT is HELL.
It's anemotional roller coaster from HELL. Hot flashes will be the very least of your concerns.
And how can you tell you're having a hot flash in SE Texas anyway? I've been having a non stop hot flash for the last 50 years.
I think I can sure it by moving about 2,000 miles north.
I don't know if that will cure it. It got pretty cold here last night , too cold to pull the covers down and I still managed to have a hot flash. It's funny because my wife woke up and she though she was the one having a hot flash. I had to tell her it was me.

OMG, Erocse, that is funny! The cold weather makes it a little worse because I bundle up under blankets then wake up sweating then throw them off and then have chills and freezing to death about 1 minute later!!! :o
