What did you do?
I didn't have any events that I could go to anywhere nearby so I lit a candle and spent most of the day in solemn reflection breaking into tears in thoughts of those who have been lost
To my mind that is what it should be about.
Quiet, solemn, reflection. I would never want it to be about celebration.
While I had to work today, I did take time to sit quietly and reflect and hope.

I did the same (including having to work...)
I also reflected on those who have been taken from us. I was going to go downtown to the remembrance, but the pocketbook said otherwise.
There was a vigil I wanted to go to, but I had to pass it up since I couldn't get a ride. :/
I wanted to go to the Vigil in LA but wasn't able to make it. However, I took the day for prayer and reflection. The struggle for justice and equality continues.
I was fortunate to be able to go to the West Hollywood event. I talked with several friends and listened to speeches and the "roll-call" of names. I appreciated that several times speakers noted that the emotional violence of rejection and mockery leads to suicide and living soul-death for those who feel crushed by them. There was a feeling of sadness tempered by determination and hope.

We did a vigil in Jackson, MS, over 2 dozen in attendance.

Boston had a good turnout at the Cathedral of St Paul, maybe 400.
We had a few policeman helping us get across the street for a candlelight march through the park.
This wil come out controversial, but theres no reason for a Trans Day here in the U . S. I say that because this "ONCE GREAT Nation was founded upon Religious freedom . That includes the ability to be free of religion too. With that said , people here should be able to live as free Men and women and have freedom to do what they want with their bodies . ellen
