I don't know if this has been posted yet, but one of the reasons I have trouble passing is because of my hands. Everybody I have ever met has said I could be a hand model. There have been kids that I simply talk to in classes at school that say I have really nice hands.
Honestly, I hate to sound conceited, but I really do have the hands that every girl wants. Well, girly girls. My hands and fingers are very slender and long, and my nails grow evenly and are shiny and don't break easily.
The only problem is that my hands are very feminine and everybody notices, for example, if I'm sitting down and I have my hands on the table. Somebody will comment that my hands are very nice. And when somebody tells you your hands are nice, that means they're feminine. I have learned this.
Due to this, I've started wearing gloves a lot more. Especially fingerless gloves (which I love anyhow) because for some reason they make my fingers look more...stubby, I suppose you could say. Or maybe not stubby, but less girly.
Anyone else have this problem? It's been really bothering me because I swear everybody mentions that my hands are very "pretty" and whatnot. I've been making sure that I cut my nails a lot so that they don't grow too much and look even more girly and feminine, but it doesn't work.
You know, my hands are one of the things, besides my boobs and vagina, that make me the most dysphoric.
This must sound really weird. :icon_ashamed:
not everyone means feminine hands when they say "nice hands" I have a slight hand fetish and when I see a man with hands i like, I will tell him he has 'nice hands' meaning, rough and i dunno, just nice
and sorry I cant relate, my hands are small with long slender fingers but I have really bad OCD so my hands are super dry and look like an old persons.
what if you picked at your cuticals or bit your nails? may make them look less pretty.

Well, if you saw my hands, you'd know what I mean. XD Lol. When people say I have nice hands, there's really no other definition for it.
They look like an old persons? Nice.
(I had to google what cuticals were.) Anyway, I could try that. That's an idea.
I hate to say it and be the bad guy, but your hands aren't what's making not pass :( You're young, your hair is long, since you're biologically female I'm going to assume your voice is high and you aren't on T so your face isn't masculinized yet. Just because I meet a bio guy with very pretty hands, I'm not going assume that their trans, or a girl.
I'm 99% sure that your hands aren't going to hinder your transition. I've even heard of trans guys getting manlier hands because of the skin texture changes. So hang in there!

Well, yes. I know that. XD I'm just saying, my hands personally bother me.
Edit:// Also, you're not being the bad guy, you're just being honest.
Well, if that's all, quit! Don't let it bother you, man! I know bio guys who have really manly hands and they HAAATE their hands, they wish they had softer hands. Honestly I think you have to learn to love what you have, otherwise you'll just continue hating yourself.

I suppose I can just ignore it. XD We'll see how well that works. And compliments aren't always that bad, I guess. I don't know.
I'd kill to find a guy with some gorgeous hands. I have a major hand-fetish and if I see someone (mostly guys) with nice hands (long, slender fingers, well-done nails, smooth palms...) I about start to drool. People think it's funny that I love nice hands. I also have a tendency to watch all hands because they just fascinate me (in a non-sexual manner).
I don't think nice hands will hinder your transition at all. Just remember nice =/= feminine in most people's eyes. You can always look on the bright side that girls/guys have a tendency to like well-taken care of hands. :D
Are you attached to having your nails long?
I don't think you should start a habit of biting your nails or cuticles. However, you could use a nail clipper or file and keep your nails as short as possible without it hurting. That might be less pretty.
Otherwise, I have no idea. The concept of pretty hands is odd to me. Heh.
yeah i have some hand dysphoria too because i have pretty feminine hands =[ luckily most people don't spend alot of time looking at your hands =]
I don't think it's weird. No ones ever told me that I have nice hands, but I wish they were bigger. I'm not sure what average is, but I can't palm a basketball. My hand measures 7 inches. I wish my wrists were bigger too. They are 6.5.

Nah. I've been keeping them short. Anytime they grow, even a little bit, I cut them down as short as possible.
Also, I'm starting to think I'm being too hard on myself. From most of the responses here, it would seem so.
people used to tell me i had nice hands and could be a hand model.. same with my feet. However.. scarring from various encounters over the years hve made my hands less attractive as well as not taking care of the cuticles - so they are all mashed and cut up.. and there's nothing wrong with having nice feet.
Mine aren't necessarily nice (I play a lot of instruments so they get banged up and caloused) but they're tiny, a long with my feet. And I mean oddly small for size. So I can sympathize there. Small things are seen as delicate which isn't a far shot from feminin.
I used to have "nice hands" too. You know how you fix it? Work with your hands. Also, cut your nails short - if I don't cut mine super short I look like I have a permanent French manicure (they're that shiny and the tips are that white). But mainly, go do some work with your hands. Get them cut up, callused, bruised, roughened, get a little dirt under the nails and in the cuticles (no matter how much you wash, it takes weeks for engine grease and brake dust to get out, they soak into the skin).
The downside of this is because you have "girl skin," they'll get cut more and bleed more. On the plus side, they'll scar less.
The best way to make your hands more masculine would be to rough them up more. Do work with your hands, or if you have cats play with them a lot using your hands. That's what I do and it keeps my hands looking masculine because they are covered it scratches. If you can't do either of those things, try to just rub them around on the ground until they are dirty and rough, but not too obviously dirty lol As for the size and shape of them, I think testosterone is the only thing that can change that. I have heard there are a few other things you can do though. If you want veins on your hands, wear rubber bands on your wrists or wear sweat bands.
The first cue that people see and made them think of female hands its the skin. As you arent on T yet, there is very little that can be done with that. Rough them up like others have suggested, well unless you are into the metrosexual way, bite your nails and stuff.
Once you start T youll notice how your skin might start changing to a more rough and coarse look (also oily) And if you are lucky, youll get some hair on them.
Now the wrists can be a problem because there is almost nothing to do to change them besides working out. And it made hands really stand out, so you could try using a watch to draw attention from your wrist to you watch instead. Avoid long sleeves if they dont fit as the scrawny look only accentuate the "girl" look -_-
I suggest you learn to work with your hands so you can learn some man skills in addtion to more masculine hands. After I took up carpentry my fingers got a long stronger and more rough. Plus I learned a lot of useful things aswell.
I really wouldn't focus on your hands too much, I've always had quite feminine hands and was constantly being told that I had pretty hands (my favourite one was "you have the hands of an artist"), I also have ridiculously delicate facial features and quite feminine body and I never had any issues being seen as male back in the days when I was pretending to be someone else.
You're also hot and I'd definitely read you as male in that kind of androgynous emo way, so please don't feel down about your hands. ;D
start fixing old cars and pretty short order your hands will lose the prettiness.
i've had people tell me that i had the tiniest hands they've ever seen on a guy my age but it never affected my passing,,,,,,and on a side note, one of the people who said that had previously known me for over a year and never noticed my hands before.
(p.s. if you really feel like you need "manlier hands" though, that's easy to achieve -- do all the nasty household chores like the dishes and floors...every day, cook your meals from scratch...within a year you'll have hands like my mom...who has the "manliest" hands you've ever seen :D )
edit: i agree, fixing old cars would be the fastest way :D

I do not have much advice, but I have an observation which might help you.
I have a cousin who is a huge bulky man (genetic male), about 6'2" and hairy. A few years ago, he had a form a cancer for which he underwent chemo. On chemo, he lost a lot of his hair and a little bulk. One thing I noticed when I met him hairless was his hands. His fingers were thin and his hands were tiny. They looked very feminine. I noticed this because I used to be conscious about my own hands because I thought that I had big hands with long fingers for a girl. I did not verbalize my observations and I kept them to myself.
Then I met him about a year after he recovered from cancer mostly (I have heard he has relapsed more recently). His hair was back on his arms, the back of his hands, and his knuckles. Although I am sure that his hands and his fingers were still as small and feminine as before, they did not appear that way. His hands looked masculine with all that hair.
