Hello all.
I am currently a little over 5 years on T and have been anxiously procrastinating on preparing for a Hysto - mostly because I know the first step involves a well woman exam :/ I am know there is an issue with insurance. Sometimes they cover it and sometimes not, but is it possible to use the insurance without my employer knowing my intent? My employer does not know of my situation, and I feel it would cause some discomfort at work.
If I have to come up for the funding on this one, it may be another 5 years before it happens. This is something I've wanted to do since my first shot. Any info, suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
I have no idea on the other details, but in my case the cervix was removed, so I had ONE exam and that was the LAST exam ever!
I'll never have to have another pap-smear again!
Employers don't have access to medical records (unless you sign a release for them), your insurance does tho.
Miniar - oh, this had better be my one and only...I dont think I can handle doing it over and over :/
LordKAT - That's true I guess. I just dont know how everything works as far as paperwork and dont feel like dealing with any drama at work. Thanks!
All things considered you might expect a couple more, like a post-op exam and such, but my doc decided that since I was completely pain and bleeding free that he'd spare me the discomfort.
Once the cervix is gone, there is no need for that exam. Hysto was the first thing I did. Good riddance to bad rubbish!
