Ok, this might seem a bit old, but I just stumbled on a quote I transcribed from the book "Almost perfect" a couple of years ago. For those who don't know Torchwood (R.I.P. :( ), it was a spin-off series of Doctor Who, it was placed in Cardiff where some experts were taking care of aliens who mistakenly ended up on Earth. Anyway, the authors also wrote some books with the same protagonists and my favourite was Almost perfect. It describes how, suddenly, random people start becoming perfect. And Ianto, the boy-for-everything of Torchwood, becomes a perfect woman.
I liked in the book that it shows pretty well how shocking it is to suddenly be in a body that's not you. Doesn't matter if it looks gorgeous, it's just not you. Ianto uses this description:
QuoteYou know when your mobile breaks and they give you a replacement that looks OK but isn't quite right? I'm that wrong phone.
So if anybody feels like reading some light-slightly-tg fiction, it is good!
They are currently filming a new season of Torchwood and it'll be on the Starz cable network here in the US. Not sure where it'll be in the UK.
My understanding is it's going to start showing early next year. :)
Really? That's great! Although they'll have to convince me it's still a good show because I'll miss all the dead protagonists :(
Yeah, that concerns me a tad bit too ... Jack will be back though. He's always fun.
I love Torchwood and I can't wait for the new series, don't like the new title 'Miracle Day' though, I much preferred 'The New World' as a title as it had so many more levels of meaning to it
Im a big Doctor fan (David Tennit), I love Jack tho, I keept missing all the reruns of tochwood so now i have to watch it on netflix. I have totaly Doctored out my gf tho ;D, I keep telling her its payback for sex in the city. she doesnt like it when I tell her that.
My hope is that Torchwood doesn't lose it's LGBT story lines by having Starz as one of the production companies. I find that when British shows get Americanized (a la Being Human) some of the edge that made it great is lost.
I'll have to check out Almost Perfect. I love the series, but I've never read the books for it. Maybe it'll fill the Ianto shaped hole in my heart. :(

Hey! This is Torchwood! Just because you're dead doesn't mean you won't be back.
It sounds interesting. :D
I will have to read it sometime
