Title: The gift exchange thread
Post by: Radar on December 12, 2010, 04:40:22 PM
This was talked about in a thread about receiving gender incorrect Christmas gifts. I searched the forums but couldn't find an overall thread for this. If this is somehow against the rules please let me know. This can be for any gift exchanges- not just ones from Christmas.

I have a few things I'd like to exchange. I donated most of my feminine clothes (what little I had) but I do have a few I don't want to donate. They're nice quality and I'd like for them to go to a lady who really wants and will wear them. Members of my family are either not the same size or they're something they wouldn't wear. There are two dresses and one long heavy dress coat.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv422%2FDr_Radar%2Fclothes%2Fcolourdressfront.jpg&hash=c63facf32519165a6ec083a5e8adc2417f04c2d8)  (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv422%2FDr_Radar%2Fclothes%2Fcolourdressback.jpg&hash=6ad300f4be29d2ca618f3759250c69a3d8a4060b)
This is a multi-coloured dress. The front is sagging down more than how it really wears. The front does cover the chest to where you don't have to wear a shirt under it. It's a Karen Kane dress size XL (I have no idea what size that would be in numbers). The overall length is around 42" tall and the sleeves are around 23" long.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv422%2FDr_Radar%2Fclothes%2Fblackdressfront.jpg&hash=4d886bb2f82f2b12473411a4c2bdb4038e4faf86)  (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv422%2FDr_Radar%2Fclothes%2Fblackdressback.jpg&hash=9b11b2b57423128e25abe6546d293106e566ab7d)
This is a black, grey & white dress. The black designs at the bottom of the dress are velvet. This is also a Karen Kane dress size L (once again I don't know what the number size would be). The overall length is around 42" tall.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv422%2FDr_Radar%2Fclothes%2Fcoatfront.jpg&hash=6d6aa9403e9c21cd324447e4b2cedb47610d9bd0)  (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv422%2FDr_Radar%2Fclothes%2Fcoatback.jpg&hash=61dd62c38f631e8b7e51ca2c01fdcff209af1827)

This is a heavy long dress coat. This thing is very, very warm and would be great for colder climates. It's a Larry Levine coat size 8. The overall length is around 48" tall and the sleeves are around 24" long. The leopard pin that drapes over the shoulder is included unless you don't want it.

I don't have a complete men's suit and am looking to complete that. I do have dress pants and shirts but no actual jacket. If anyone's interested in any of these items let me know. If you want more info on them let me know and I'll try to answer them the best I can (I'm not clothes savvy). If you're interested but don't have men's clothes to swap let me know of anything you have you don't want- because I may want that too. :)

Feel free to list any items or gifts you got you don't want but think someone else might. With Christmas coming it's bound to happen and I know Hanukkah is over.

What are your new sizes, Radar? Maybe we need a CLASSIFIEDS section on the board...lol.

My sizes vary slightly depending on the cut and brand, plus with pants/slacks I roll them up if need be. Waist is 36-38. I've lost more weight though so I might be able to wear a 34 but I haven't checked. Length is 30-32. For dress shirts I mostly run at (M) 15- 15 1/2, 32/33. If something might be a little big I have no problem with getting it altered.

subscribing. I'm sure to have something feminine by the end of the season. If not 5 or 6 things.

Joining in.  I asked for running shoes, but I'm going to go ahead and guess that I'm getting some very girly clothing too.

Edit: Speaking of shoes, if any of you wear a ladies shoe size 9-10, I have a number of heels/other girly shoes from gifts and my attempt to find something reasonable to dance in.  Let me know if you're interested, and I'll take some pics.

I'll snap some when I get home today.  I think one of the pairs of heels is an 11.

I am joining in as well....I have gotten rid of most of my girl stuff ... I have been a "butch dyke" for a long time so not too many female stuff.

However, I do have some heels ... size 8 in women's ... if anyone is interested.

This is a good idea, though I'm not sure if I've got anything anyone would actually want! But I'll have a look when I get home anyways. Of course, anything I have to offer will be tiny- I'm barely five-foot-freaking-two. :P

I would second that.  Like a craigslist or something.  seriously, as expensive as transition is it would be a great way for people to be able to save the wardrobe budget for something else.

well I have some guy stuff I need to get rid off...I'd be happy to swap or sell at a reasonable price depending on what it is. I'll dig through everything next weekend and make a list. though I know most of it is formal type clothing...suit, blazer, shoes etc. Oh and coats...lots and lots of coats.

What kinda size are you Helena? I'd definitely be interested in some of that formal wear stuff if there was any chance it would fit me, though as I mentioned before, I'm really short.

And I too totally second having a classifieds board on this site, I think that could be really useful.

I'm about 5'9" so the clothes may be a bit on the big side, the shoes are UK size 7 though

I have some brand new womens clothing sitting in my closet, from years gone past. I'm 5.9, 42 inch chest, super broad shoulders, etc. It's all extra large likely, because my shoulders typically don't fit into womens clothing.

I've got plenty of size 4 jeans if any ladies here want them. I've probably got some shirts laying around too. I will take pics if someone wants to see.

I have stuff for guys too, mostly large T-shirts that are too baggy on me. I also have kid size jeans (14, I think) if anyone here is short of leg :p

I'm wicked short, with legs much longer than my torso, so I fit into large or extra large kids' T-shirts or small mens' shirts...and my feet are really small, but my only good pair of shoes are smaller. If anyone happens to have like size 6.5 shoes lying around that'd be amazing...

EDIT: Or pajama pants! Pajamas are my favorite thing ever but I don't have good PJ pants anymore...

oh yeah forgot about that, I have a tonne of tshirts ranging from small to large - both mens and womens that have never been worn or are b arely used. I tend to like what I like, and never wear what I don't. Basicaully anything that anybody buys for me - I don't wear less they asked me about it first. If anyone needs some T's any size any gender lemme know.

Now that I can actually look at myself in the mirror I've found that a vast majority of my clothes are ill-fitting. I really don't have that many small T-shirts at all. In fact there are only like 3 I would wear in public. I'd love to see some of the small shirts you have.

No one will post their private info publicly, that can be done in PMs. You can use a different name if you like but using a different address would be counterproductive. I can understand your concerns though.

Haha, this made me laugh. It might indeed be a little counterproductive.  ;D
Yeah, I do know where you're coming from though, I'm not usually huge on giving out my address either.
