So where else can I go to share but here...
I was waiting in line at Bed Bath and Beyond, and I hear in the distance someone calling out "MA'AM" a few times. I then finally turned to the voice (more in a effort to find out if I could help her out with maybe someone that was next to me) and then she did a double take and switched to sir.
Honestly, I was surprised! I wasn't even fully shaved or anything. I was wearing a V neck t, a baseball cap and some girlie pants. I've already started to grow into a female shape (as indicated in another post) but from the waist up I still have a bit to go. AND I've only been on HRT since Sept. 30th 2010. I turned to my wife (who is super supportive and loving the change) and we both smiled. After I paid, I went to the spot where the woman was calling out ma'am, and I saw that maybe it was because she couldn't see my face from where she was at; because there was some display in the way.
However, you could clearly see my butt from where she was standing and maybe that was her cue to call me ma'am.
Either way, it made my day! My wife is also telling me that she is starting to see more subtle changes too. My boobs are hurting more now that the Doc up'd my Spiro too...or maybe it's just the way things are. I'm starting to notice my breasts are becoming more defined, especially in the under area.
Also, we went to my friends house for dinner and I noticed that her boyfriend and her kept looking at me a little more intense than normal. My wife thinks maybe they were just checking out the changes.
Even around my cheek and brow area it's starting to fill out more into a girlie face.
I'm happy with the changes, but I still hate the fact that the top portion of my body is a little on the broad side. I'm wondering if and when I'm ready, I should get boobs that can take that effect away and make me look more proportioned? Hmmm, it's still a while for me to even think this I guess.
I'm definitely enjoying the gender neutral life I am having for now while I wait for the HRT to kick in some more.
Right now, my wife (who has studied nutrition and such) has me on a killer diet that is full of fun exercise and yummy foods. So I can't complain about the diet not filling me up or tasting yummy. I'm not quite 6 feet so I think that with the right diet and exercise I can at least look presentable as female.
Ok, I'm just rambling! LOL

It's very nice to hear things are going so well. All those little things sure make a girl feel nice. And you have a supportive wife too !! that's great !! :)
I remember the first time for me, about six months ago. It's funny because my wife was with me. She was a little taken back at it and I had to explain to her that is was a good thing and that I found it very flattering. The first time still stands out as the best one ever.

The same exact thing happened to me the first time I got ma'amed, except at an Apple store. I heard a "Can I help you ma'am? Ma'am?" and i just kind of looked over towards the voice, and it was an Apple employee looking straight at me. She looked at me, confused for a second, and then said "Oh, sorry... Sir..."
You will find that it will happen more and more as time goes on and HRT works it's magic, to the point where you might even get ma'amed in full guy mode, which happened to me a few weeks ago :-)

I was at the post office one day and this guy did a double take. Because as usual, he started at the bottom checking me out and then when he got to my face, he was like "WHAT?"...LOL, Hey atleast he looked right?

Sorry for the delay on the other. Congratulations on the ma'am. I still get a kick when people say ma'am at me on the telephone. I sometimes still even jump up and down saying "yeah!" Enjoy and get more ma'ams.
Now if I can just get my top half down a bit. I have big shoulders and I'm around 5'12 (lol). I'm on a diet and I exercise on a regular basis, so I hope it all works out with the lower half.
Things can never go fast enough and my GD is sometimes depressing me a bit and I'll pull a lil' 5 year old fit "Ohhhh, I'll NEVER be a GIRL...never, never, never..." and then a few seconds later I'm "I gotta get there! I WILL get there!!!" Maybe it's the hormones!
So I just try to forge on and smile as much as I can. ;)
Patience and persistence wins the race. Also true is that money and age play a factor. Okay, the degree of femininity plays a factor too and children. The easiest rode, if one can say that, is if you are a girl attracted to guys and still in your twenties. Transitioning takes only a few years from beginning to the end, at least as far as my endo told me a few years ago. Changing over takes longer as you get older, as there are more things to get undone and the male puberty to undo.
I seem to be stuck in limbo, so I understand the pouting. On top of everything, I have to get used to being a girl and everything that that represents. I seem to resist change, even when I want it.
