Title: Finding a gender therapist.
Post by: Connorsaurus on December 15, 2010, 07:29:18 PM
I'm getting so frustrated. :/ I've been looking and looking and looking. But, I can't find a gender therapist in Medford, Oregon. I mean, I've found a few, but none of them accept my insurance. If anyone knows any more resources for finding one, please let me know. Thanks, guys.

Also, my insurance type is OHP, if that helps.

http://www.drbecky.com/therapists03.html (http://www.drbecky.com/therapists03.html) If you haven't looked here already, give it a shot. This is where I found mine, in VA.

Other than that, I have no idea. With mine, in order for it to be covered under my insurance, I had to list our sessions under anxiety, if that's relevant at all.

Chances are you will have to pay out of pocket.

If you have a LGBT center near you, they usually offer therapy services on a sliding scale.  Other then that, try to find a therapist to handle the anxiety, depression, etc that's going along with your GID.  Be honest with them, either they can treat you or they might know someone close by they can refer you to (in other words, just becuase someone doesn't advertise themselves as a gender therapist doesn't mean they aren't).
