Title: I need some help
Post by: Bridget99 on December 30, 2006, 04:55:20 AM
I am a male that has the mind and heart of a girl. And i wanted to test out an estrogen supplement but a small dosage so i can see if its what i truly want in my heart. Can you give me a name and place that i can get it, and can i get it at like a wal-mart or something like that? but i researched and it said if you want to test it out then go with the herbal estrogen supplement to get a less of a impact to see if it what you want. So if you can help me with this i would be very happy. ^.^ thank you for at least reading my post take care and be happy

Meh, this is not going to be what you want to hear unfortunately.

By and large you should probably start out with a therapist rather than hormones as those silly hormones can have some very unpleasant side effects for some. Granted it is unlikely you will be part of the percentage that practically drops dead but HRT IS playing with fire, I suggest trying to determine what is what before you worry about HRT in general.

But that said I am really not sure if a herbal thing would give you a clue anyway so I can't really give a yea or nae on that but by and large you can generally get all of the confirmation you need internally, and hence the recommendations of therapists.

This is just how I see things mind. I wish you luck and good fortune, and bid you keep thy brain engaged at all times ;)

As far as I know, herbal 'hormones' have about the same effect as throwing your money down the drain. If they worked, they would be prescription-only. If you're serious about this, go and see your doctor.

I just want to echo what everyone has said. An herbal "supplement" isn't going to teach you anything.

I do understand your logic though. The proper way to find out is to find a qualified gender therapist and explain these feelings to them. Somewhere after three months of continuous therapy, some will recommend a low-dose hormone regimen to first see if that provides enough relief of the GID. Because of the dangers of hormones, therapists will want to be darn sure that your GID is serious. The risks are too great for casual experimentation (not that this applies to you).

Hi Brigit
Our hearts go out to you as I know you see from the other posts. Be sure that we all understand your position and a lot of us speak from experience. The road of hard knocks does teach, but often inflicts other unforseen damage.

If you have problems try contacting a local TS support group. If you have no luck in either direction, post your general area of habitation and hopefully someone can email you a private list of local contact refferals.

Hormones without hope or direction can be a lethal path to go down. But be assured your not alone in your quest

Regards

Denise

I fear Kimberly is right!
Do not want to just experiment on them on your own... a therapist or docotor monitoring you is better..
can you do this or arrange that?
