Happy with your hands? Unhappy with your hands?
I've seen random posts where someone might be talking about how they feel their hands don't help them pass. Thoughts on that? I've never really looked at people's hands before as a determination of gender, but I guess some people do?
Feel free to post a pic of your hands ... here's mine!

My hands and fingers are wide, but my fingers are really short, it makes them look kind of girly. I wish my fingers were a little longer.
Men's hands tend to be a bit larger from my understanding, but logically that's also due to the fact bio-males tend to have a larger structure to begin with, it's not unheard of to see a guy with girly hands though, however they normally tend to be smaller guys. Same with women, larger framed women tend to have larger hands, smaller framed women tend to have more girly hands. This isn't including things like callouses, scarring, etc that can be gained from activities. I got lucky, I'm large framed, my hands are a bit large due to it, and lets not get started on the scars and callouses collection I got.

Me, my hand, my hair, my room. I've got these long, thing "pianist's fingers". They might be a bit feminine, but frankly, I don't really care. I mean, are they bad enough for pass killing? In that case, I could care. Currently, I like that they work properly and don't disintegrate considering all abuse I've put them through (no gloves in temperatures around 0 fahrenheit, cracking all the joints in them, biting my nails, etc). My hair is really that messy; it stood straight up when I took off my hat earlier today. It looked completely insane.

The hands are actually a very accurate method to determine someone's sexual anatomy. There is an extremely high correlation (I think over 90%) between the ratio of the lengths of the fingers to one's sexual anatomy.
To make a long story short: males should have a longer ring finger than index finger, and females should have a longer index finger than ring finger.
Another good method is palmistry. Palmistry is a method to try to gain information about someone by the friction lines on their hands. Most of it is unconfirmed superstition. But there is one thing that you can try out for yourself to see if it is true: females tend to have many more lines on their hands than do males!
Of course, Inside posted the pic with palms facing away from the camera. Not hiding anything, are we >:-)
My hands are something I'm not going to stress about because it sounds like a lot of guys hands grow on T. Those who aren't gonna go on T though my best suggestion is avoid nail polish unless you like the goth black nails thing (I used to). Other than that I've met a lot of small handed guys.
VeryGnawty: The index vs. ring finger size is one that I'm not sure is right. I have a longer ring finger and I am pre-T, I know many bio gals that do.

That's curious, and yes, I just checked my hands when I read that. With left hand my index is longer than my ring and on my right hand my ring is longer than my index, neither have suffered damage that would cause a change in finger length that I am aware of. Heh, never noticed that before, seems my body's all kinds of confused >_>
I have pretty large hands and long fingers which helps since I play piano. I also have a double jointed thumb on one hand. o.O

I'm more concerned with my tiny wrists than my hands. -.-
Just an outside looking in; thought I would throw my experience in. I've only met one ftm man, and I honestly didn't know right away. Once he told me, I did notice that his hands were very small for his frame, so they(along with his height) were not giveaways (since I didn't guess but granted I don't worry about that sort of thing) but simply throwbacks to his old body. Does that make sense? I don't think they hinder your passing, but they can be one of those 'oh, ok, now I guess I see it' things for some guys.
I'm happy with my hands, I always have been. I have very large hands for my size, my dad used to tell me that they look like monkey hands haha. I also work outside almost everyday, they are callused and thick and rough especially in the winter. I have never really thought of them as a hinderance on passing though. I have seen plenty of men who if I looked at their hands I though "wow they have small hands" but it never made me doubt that they were male.
The finger ratio thing being 90% accurate is a falsehood. While it may be a trend it is by no means anywhere near proof. My ring fingers are much longer than my index fingers. We have had these threads before.
My dad definitely has longer index fingers than ring fingers. So does my maternal grandfather. I think that theory belongs with palm reading and the like.
My hands look most like Shayne's out of the pictures here, except my fingers are longer, and my hands overall are more knobbly and wrinkly. Really knobbly and wrinkly, which makes no sense as I'm a teenager. I have old lady hands. The only guy I've seen with hands remotely like mine is Voldemort. And I did get a prolonged confused look from an art teacher when she saw my hands and I was stealth, so if your hands are as feminine as mine it does seem to make a difference. Didn't out me though, it was just an oddity.

My index finger is slightly longer than my ring finger.
I definitely have scars. Most of my cuticles are messed up. If my hands are cold the veins don't pop out but if they're normal temp or warm they do. I have trouble straightening out the pinky figure on my right hand, even though I've never broken it or anything. Probably some genetic thing. And of course since I'm small, my hands are small but proportional.
I was lounging with a date and he picked up my hand and commented that I had small hands and a small frame. He does not know my history (yet).

Ah man...I have a love/hate relationship with my hands. I hate the fact that they are so small but on the same note, it does make playing guitar a bit easier in that I can move my fingers faster. The downside being- due to the size- a lot of guitar necks (especially thick ones) give me trouble (because I want to block with my thumb but that's rather difficult with such a small reach!), so in order for me to even find one I can play I have to pick it out in person because I need to play with the neck. It's made guitar shopping a pain, to say the least, as most guys my age have pretty big hands with long fingers. A former friend once said to me that while I struggle due to the length of my fingers at times (I do cause blisters on my hand when I play for hours) that I've evened myself out by being able to press the strings down with ease. :P Basically, I have strength in my fingers (hrrn hrrrn insert naughty joke) but I just can't wrap my hand around anything too huge. Which pisses me right off because I love to be a can-do-it-myself man.
Oh and one of the pains I get is when bioguys high five me. <_< There's always that one dude that has to say "Man, your hands are SO small!"
Pics are a hassle. I have tiny little child hands XD.
My ruler says 6.5" long and 3.5" wide. I don't really sweat it but if I had bigger hands the piano would be easier to play.
insideontheoutside- i love your hands

here's mine, they are really dry and bleed a lot because I have OCD so I wash my hands 10-20 times a day, they dry out. my pinkys are crooked, I like it
They are 7 inches and my left is a little over 7 lol. Ring finger is longer.
According to Wikipedia avg is 7.4.

My hands are small and creepy-looking.

But on the neck of a guitar, my fingers can stretch pretty far, so I get to encourage beginners by pointing out that if I can do it, so can they, with a bit more practice. That's one thing I kind of like about having small hands - it gives me a chance to point out that playing guitar is about how much you practice, not what size your hands are.
They're ok, I'd like them to be a bit bigger and fingers to be less chubby but I don't worry about them.

I hate wearing gloves, even if its cold.
I think the whole index/ring finger was started after observations were made of male athletes finger ratio and then became a popular gender marker thing for everyone else. Olympic athletes are in a league of their own and shouldn't be compared to mr and miss average. My opinion only. :)
My hands are feminine looking...so going by my hands alone you can tell I am female. But I hear that T can change that...at least that's what I'm hoping!
I have looked at pictures of fully transitioned FTMs, and actual FTMs I know. There are 3 subtle things that IMO will "give them away" no matter how far past transition they are. (Not the Adam's apple thing like everyone says!) It's their small sized teeth, their hips in some cases, and their hands. That's been my experience. It's very subtle, but those seem to be the giveaways to me, if I see someone in public that makes me curious, and I am trying to figure out trans or bio-man, that's what I look for.
I like my hands... They're small, unfortunately, but they're really rough and strong (benefit of making chainmaille, it's really hard on your hands) and I have a quite a few little scars from various stupid things I've done with knives. ;D

Small sized teeth! lol I better tell two of my bio guy friends they may be more female ;)
Teeth have a lot to do with genetics as far as I can tell. One of my friends who has small teeth everyone in his family does. The other friend had a genetic condition where he actually never got adult teeth - they're all "baby" teeth.
I know Testosterone can change a body, but so much of the size things have to do with your genes more than anything.
Of course, men can have small teeth and women large, or hands for that matter. I was just saying they can be a clue.
And you're right, you can't fight genetics!

kind of a crappy pic, just snapped it during work when i went to get something from the car lol. not easy to balance a camera on the back of a seat and try to stretch your arms out in front of it XD
annyways, i'd say my hands/fingers are a bit bigger/longer than normal for a female bodied person. probably helps that i'm a mechanic and theyre always cut up and dirty too, haha.

I wish. Kinda the opposite. From 15 to 21 I was taking birth control that had estrogen in it. Switching to an estrogen free one didn't help. I was tired all the time, got headaches, moody. I stopped taking it a few months ago and I feel a lot better now.
Your hands pass fine to me too.
I always wondered why my wrists looked funny, it wasnt til recently that I figured out it was actually my hands. Im a small guy, along with that comes small everything. My hands are tiny, and I hate it. They are baby small and stubby. :( I wish theyd grow.
