I bought a houseplant about eight years ago – a corn plant (dracaena fragrans). It stayed healthy but never grew. In the year after I got it, my spouse got sick. I cared for her until her death four years later. Then I spent several years going through the grieving process. Then I began transition. The plant stayed the same size throughout all this. About the time of my surgery it flowered for the first time. Now it is growing at last. Coincidence?

Probably, but it's a very nice coincidence :)
:D
That is coolio. Psychic connection with a plant XD
Indeed a nice coincidence.
Cool. I'm lucky if my plants live for a year before I kill them.

I have a cactus that I have had for 10+ years. It's almost like a pet to me.
Plants can sense good vibes and bad vibes. They have proven it with music. It is just your soul sing now Kate.

I think they did a Mythbusters program on it, I can't remember the result.
But Kate it's a reflection of the wonderful effect you have on all of us. :-* :-* :-*

I'm a rationalist and a sceptic.
But I've learnt that science has limitations. More than it's prepared to admit. Much of it borne out of its own arrogance and over confidence.
I have an allotment. We also have a very small back garden. Every year we buy seed. Most I plant on my allotment. Some, my wife plants in the garden.
Every year the same result. The seed my wife plants grows wonderfully. Mine struggles.
Soils are the same. Climate is largely the same.
Now it's always possible to find alternative explainations. And we always should try.
