Title: Any experience with these Les Love Boat Binders?
Post by: Jake P on December 28, 2010, 10:22:11 AM
So, I am looking into getting a new binder, and I've heard great things about the ones from Les Love Boat.  I had actually gotten one from them, and it works well/is comfortable, but I think it was a little too big for me.  So I am looking to get another one, and was curious if anyone had any experience with any of the following:

Super Strength Zipper Short Binder:

O-Neck Velcro Short Binder:

High Performance Velcro Short Binder:

These are the ones that look the most interesting/effective to me, but if there are any that you have tried and would recommend that I didn't list, please, feel free to let me know that as well.  Also, if you could maybe let me know what you did with the sizing-did you get bigger, smaller, actual measured size?  The last one I got, I went with the actual measured size, and I think it was a little big for me.  Thanks!

I have the high strength (v-neck) on order and will give you a review when I get it.  Sorry I can't be of more help yet :)

Since you haven't gotten a ton of responses, I'll update :)  I just got mine in the mail about 10 minutes ago.  First, I'm a 34DD, fell well within the large range and should have gotten a medium.  It's cut a bit too big under the arms for me so I'll probably try the wide coverage next time.
Now, that's all the bad.  The good..... OMFG this is AWESOME!  Um, yeah, it feels like I'm wearing a tight sportsbra made of swimsuit material.  Binds as well as my 997, I'll never order from underworks again.  I ordered mine 12/22 and it's here today with Christmas and New Years in the middle.  I'm going to order another one :)

I ordered one of their strapless black binders and had it delivered just last week.

It gets me pretty flat and I'm alright with it for now, but I think I'm definitely going to be purchasing a pull-over one or a zip-up in the future. The strapless one tends to ride down a little if it's not pulled tight enough (which is at times hard to tell until it's too late and I need to find a restroom to adjust it. Awkward.) I find it's good for low activity days, but definitely wouldn't wear it clubbing or anything. That and I feel like it's not as stealthy as the thin fabric provided by their pull-overs because the strapless has a portion that is double layered where the velcro meets. It keeps me from wearing certain t-shirts that aren't as loose because of the rim of fabric that shows through.

So yeah, one of my paychecks come February is going towards a more functional one from the same company.

love boat doesn't seem to make binders in my size. Everything is too small.

Fumbling, they do say they're willing to do a custom order for sizes not otherwise available.  It says so on the Size Chart page.

Did you check out the plus size section?  They have a lot of the really popular binders there up to 6x.

Durrrr.  ::) I just saw that now. I'm surprised I didn't see it before. They are quite a bit more expensive than underworks, but everyone seems to be saying they bind better than underworks. I'm looking at the AIR7 Mesh black velcro short binder. Any experience with this one? Anyone?

No, but I'm getting ready to order the high performance.  It's a wider coverage and has better binding so you might want to consider it as well.  Yes, they're more expensive but just from personal experience, more than worth it.  I'm washing my loveboat today and didn't bother to put on my underworks which says a LOT since I really prefer to bind.  I wouldn't say that they necessarily bind better but mine is about the same and the comfort is SO worth it.   Just my experience, your mileage may vary :)
