What kind of changes have you seen while on m2f hrt? I have never heard of it but it seems that the color on my upper lip line seems to be expanding a little bit. A few years ago, i took E and DP for 2 months and it caused a little irregularity in my upper lipline. It wasnt noticed by anyone but me and I thought it was a coincidence until recently it has started changing again and continuing the pattern. Has anyone else ever seen this?
Also, what other changes have you seen with lips and hrt? Does hrt make your mouth look more fem?
I've been wondering this as well. Hoping...DREAMING....my lips get saved with HRT. Even just a little fuller would be nice!
Same here hoping something happens with my lips once I start HRT.
I found the following on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hormone_replacement_therapy_(male-to-female)) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hormone_replacement_therapy_(male-to-female)))
QuoteSubcutaneous adipose tissue increases in the face (cheeks and lips) making the face appear puffier, appears to "round out" the face, and the face appears less "drawn" or "hollow" with slightly less emphasis on the jaw due to the lower portion of the cheeks having filled in.
Absolutely no change for me.
i think in this short time they got slightly fuller, but i might be imagining that
Yeah I didn't experience any lip changes in the last year that I know of
How large is the cosmetics/PS business?
And what percentage of that is lipped based?
Nope no changes. Been thinking about the collagen injections.
anecdotally, the younger one starts HRT the more likely that the lips will respond the same as a cis woman.
Caroline
I ask because when I look in th the mirror it looks like a a guys mouth with lipstick. I dont need anything glamorous, but i just want a pretty and feminine smile... :embarrassed:

Get some collagen injections. They're relatively cheap.

Medically, the lip shape is fixed from well before puberty.
There's not been any change that I can see, but in the interests of pseudo-scientific study I'll let everyone else decide. I found two pictures with similar facial expressions
pre hrt...feeling depressed

4 months post HRT...again feeling depressed, but thankfully over nothing (I'm a silly girl)

My lips actually look slightly fuller pre-HRT.
Now all we need is a third comparison for the control and we've got enough data to give the definitive pseudo-scientific answer on the matter.
Pseudo-science...for when facts just don't cut it.
Vexing definitely has smaller looking lips in the more recent photo.

Your philtrum looks a lot different in the second photo. Since the lighting is so different, it's hard to make any good conclusions.

We need more anecdata so I can produce some anecstatistics.

Is there an anecave as well?
More anecdotes to the rescue! :P Although my friend claims they have gotten larger, I can't see a difference in my pictures.

Ask a local cosmetic surgeon.

To me, all of those before/after pictures seem like the post-hrt added to lip plumpness. The overall rounding of the face, however, makes the lips seem like they're a bit smaller. Also, the before/after could seem a little skewed without a profile shot.
My lips got noticeably fuller in the last couple of months since I was put on blocker injection and higher dosage of estrogen. I used to self medicate for about a year or so and had no change in lip fullness during that time. I am 33 but I react amazingly to hormones. My cheeks also got extremely defined. I was asked many times whether I had some work done on my face.
I heard it also depends on how effective your fat redistribution, what you eat, etc.
The shape you start with is important. Mine became more pouty, I'm not sure if they're fuller

Lips are actually a muscle, so HRT should have liitle to no effect on them. I had lip implants a couple of weeks ago, and I still have some swelling and a little bruising; I may post some pictures in a couple of weeks after I'm fully healed, in case anyone is interested in this procedure.
Mine definetly changed a bit, in five months. Posted pic, I guess it's a YMMV thing. Left is -2 months HRT, right is two days ago. 5ish months HRT.

It kind of appears that you are pursing your lips more in the updated picture

Maybe, but that's just the way they look now. In my profile pic it's the same. My upper lip just seems fatter, and for whatever reason they seem slightly different. Maybe I'm just imagining it, but that pre HRT pic looks a cro magnon dude in makeup, and the top lip looks thinner and wider when trying to grin.
About 4 months on HRT, I noticed quite a change in my lips. They were definitely fuller.
Holy necro'd thread batman! lol
still no lip changes for me. I've considered injections but frankly I'm pretty happy with my face and body nowadays....going an extra mile seems too filled with possibility of negative consequences.
I definitely had quite a change. The "darker" skin of the upper lip has expanded, and fullness has increased. Not noticeable on a day by day basis, but photos 2 years ago and now.....unbelievably different.😳
